Guybrush is Berliner through & through! In the west he learned to walk, in the east he stood on two legs. A music enthusiast from an early age. His first encounter with electronic music came by immersing himself in the Berlin nightlife. Soon it was clear that it was not just about simple clubbing, but much more about being part of something bigger. Until then it was enough for him to take on the role of a dancer on the floor. But the moment that changed all this happened, when he discovered the Berlin club "Sisyphos". So fascinated by the music & energy of the crowd, he decided to give up the role of the dancer & take on the role of the DJ to pass on his vision of music to the people.
The sound of Guybrush is always driving and accompanies the listener through a musical trip, as long as everyone lands safely again, all is well.

The closing of Mensch Meier in December 2023 was a symbolic happening in the Berliner scene. With its inclusive mindset, it was one of Berlin's most renowned clubs. This is why its re-opening by the owners as Abstrakt represented a huge victory for the scene and city itself. A celebration I've had the privillege to be part of by playing a dj set from on saturday night / sunday morning from 2:00 to 4:00.

This set was truly one for the books, and I very much enjoyed playing a bit faster and stronger than my usual sound. Keeping the flow throughout the set was pretty challenging for me though, as I mostly played spontaneously and I often simply didn't know what to play next. But, in the end, this only added to how special that night turned out to be. The renovated Lichtung (formerly known as Räuberhöhle) is terrific! I didn't know they had rebuilt the floor for the opening, and when I saw it my excitement went through the roof <3

 This time, I've managed to record the crowd as well, so you can hopefully feel what I am talking about. Happy listening (:

Happy to present space commanders Plexi Glass as next guests on our show! Plexi Glass was formed when the Italo sounds of Blaise Balda (Nathan) met the synthesizers of Hutt (Étienne). It wasn't long before they discovered a shared desire to combine today's percussion with yesterday's synthesizers. This blend gave birth to their universe, somewhere between Italo Body Music and Trance. After releasing several tracks, remixes and their first EP, the two boys from Plexi Glass are refining their style to bring an ever-evolving sound. But they're always looking for the same goal : bring music for sweaty dancefloor nights, which gives them the pleasure of creating and, above all, sharing.

Here is the recording of my set at O’Tawa Innervisions Festival 2024 in France, Friday 5-7 pm at Chacawa Stage.

What an unforgettable gathering and bouncy ride it was with so many beautiful souls, infinitely good vibes, great art and coloful creativity! It was such a hot daaance... Literally too hot. That I ever say something like that..haaha..:DD But the heat made me melt in the burning afternoon sun.

┋Doob & Janoma (Grenzenløs/Berlin) presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.86┋

Heute haben wir zwei junge Künstler für euch, die uns besonders ans Herz gewachsen sind. Doob & Janoma leben im quirligen Berlin und haben sich über Ihr gemeinsames Studium kennengelernt. 

Im Januar 2015 haben die beiden dann auf Einladung unseres Member Mitglieds Elektro Uwe dessen ersten sound(ge)cloud Podcast zusammen in Nürnberg live eingespielt. Dies war der erste gemeinsame Auftritt und der Beginn einer tiefen musikalischen Freundschaft. Die zweite Station war dann auch gleich die legendäre Räuberhöhle auf der Fusion mit einem grandiosen 5 Stunden Set … was für eine Abfahrt … wir waren Live dabei. Es folgten diverse gemeinsame Auftritte, wo auch ein fantastischer Easy-Podcast für Elektroaktivisten entstanden ist oder der massive Live-Mittschnitt aus dem Keller, den wir veröffentlichen durften.
 
Aber die beiden haben es auch als einzelne DJ-Persönlichkeiten mehr als drauf … das zeigen die zahlreichen Podcasts für Gedankenklang, OpenAirtogo oder Tiger Rag und natürlich nicht zu vergessen die beiden Live-Mitschnitte aus ihrem Lieblings-Club Sisyphos.
 
Vom Sound her sind die beiden äußerst flexibel. Mal überraschen sie mit einem ethno-easy-downtempo Mix --- aber sie verstehen es auch hochenergetisch nach vorne zu gehen - und das Ganze immer mit ihrer entspannten Doob & Janoma Leichtigkeit. 

Für unsere Nr. 86 haben die beiden sich mächtig ins Zeug gelegt und ein ganz besonderes Set gebastelt. Andi und Janosch vielen Dank für diese zweistündige Klangwelt. Und nun liebe Zuhörer: Ohren auf und abtauchen.

A journey into their own wildness - one which uplifts the soul with majestic beauty, yet grounds the body with prominent and pulsating bass. 

The Brazilian born and Berlin based artist has played in infamous German clubs such as Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Rummelsbucht, Bahnwärter Thiel, Wannda Circus or Mensch Meier as well as at festivals like Garbicz Festival, Mystic Creatures Festival, Feel Festival, Lusatia Festival, Kiez Burn and more. His musical signature can also be seen in his curation of the musical background for ‘Burning Man: The Build’ – an official Burning Man aftermovie which has won several film festival awards and has been firing up thousands of screens around the globe.
