Stepping up, stepping in… Charla Green is the latest DJ to join the ranks of the 1 More Mix series and she’s done so packing a full set of her own incendiary productions.

A powerful attack of the senses with Amens, dub sirens and timeless jungle references flying left, right and centre, it’s a high energy experience that taps deep into jungle’s core DNA and covers the Sheffield artist’s discography past, present and future.

Not only is it laced with an enormous wealth of dubs – including forthcoming releases on Hardcore Energy, Off Me Nut Records, All Colours and Function – her mix also navigates us around the earlier chapters of her discography with cuts dating back to some her earliest releases going back to 2018 on the likes of UK Jungle and 2020 on labels such as Boey Audio. Also comprising her more recent slammers with Digital on his Function Records imprint, it’s an immense statement that explicitly portrays where Charla Green is at as a super-skilled, relentlessly prolific and fresh graduate of the EQ50 mentorship at the start of 2023.

ADIEU (D-REVENGER BOOTLEG) (CLIP)

Sun & Bass 2018, as always, was a beautiful experience & it was an honour to play 2 sets during my week there. 

This was the big one, my 'proper' D&B set at the closing party on the final night, in one of my favourite venues in the world, Ambra Night, in San Teodoro, Sardinia. 

The open air 'garden' stage, under the stars on a lovely clear warm night, surrounded by some of the most awesome ravers you could ever wish to play for is always a memorable & very special experience. 

I put a lot of thought into exactly what I wanted to play, how to take the set on a journey across all the different types of D&B I love, for a knowledgable Sun & Bass crowd of true headz - keep with the musical D&B vibes & ethos AND somehow fit all that into just one hour!

As this first season of the „first timers“ series almost comes to an end we have one quite fresh set to add from 2019 by Mako. It was day 7 of our festival when Mako took over the outdoor area at Ambra alongside our very own MC Soultrain. If I#m not mistaken Mako had been to SUNANDBASS before, but this has been the first hime he played. What I find exciting is that after 16 years we still can have first timers that bring a fresh angle to the programme. He has quite a unique style and it was great to have him representing last year. And it’s fantastic we can share this set now which is still full of freshness.

Biography:

With deep roots in London’s underground club scene, FD is an electronic music producer who has never compromised his vision or sound.
