FFF touches down on Rupture for the first time, bringing big flavours from Rotterdam to London with his 'Big Request EP'.

A prolific producer and integral figure in the Dutch scene, FFF follows up past appearances at Rupture events with a debut release on the label.

The four track EP spans the full spectrum of his influences, drawing from dancehall to hardcore and beyond, cutting between hard edged breaks and teaming with pure energy.

The earliest musical memories of young Prince Istari are of his mother beautifying the home with her piano playing. She would repeatedly play the tranquil pieces of Erik Satie. Skipping school and sitting in the sun, young Prince would listen to these catchy, calm compositions. In the first week of 2024, the older Prince Istari rediscovered himself and found a box containing his mother's old sheet music. He transferred them to his computer and began spinning dub versions from them. It became a tapestry. As his mother used to say: "To weave a net, one must first spin." The form of the pieces dictated the direction each would take. The heavy dub transforms here into a light weightiness until it dissolves into a pure piano piece accompanied by a synthesizer. However, the last piece is much older, from the time when Prince was still known as Istari Lasterfahrer. The ending includes a distorted recording of Huberta, Prince's mother, playing a Gnossienne by Satie. At the end, she turns the sheet music, and the record can be turned back to the beginning.
In the essence of its material, this record rejects the Loudness War. The originality of the compositions guided the dub within their tracks, thereby imparting to each a form descriptive of its essence.

1. Tell us about upcoming releases you have coming out

2024 has been quite exciting as I had releases on different labels and there is still to come:

I had a track released on Elicit Records, as part of the “Connected_01” VA, and now a solo EP is in preparation.

I also have an EP released on Vahana Records, a Parisian label focused on Drum & Bass. I somehow ended up debuting on their label as the first artist of their "Black Swan" series, to be released on March 6th. 

I have another EP in preparation on a French label called “Trajectoire”. They recently put out an exceptional VA featuring tracks from talented producers like Qant, Âgon, and Skwig.

2. Who is your biggest musical influence, you can only choose 1.

Hard question, I believe I have multiple musical influences beyond the breakbeat/jungle style. If I had to choose one, I would say Tim Reaper. He's been pushing the Jungle sound to so many styles for more than a decade, founding Future Retro London, putting out 2 to 3 releases per month from many talented artists, it’s hard not to consider him as one of my main inspirations. I have of course many other artists that inspire me, but I stick to your 1 choice this time.

3. What are 3 [tracks] that are perfect to open a live set or mix with?

Well, I have a few tracks in mind that would be perfect to start a set, but if I had to choose 3 I would start with:
a.	“Desertism” by Persian Prince, because of the ethereal and emotional sample.
b.	“Twisted” Remixed by Mr.Sensi, from The Invisible Man. Perfect to start a dark set, involving loads of amen.
c.	“Heat Wave” by me, for the atmospheric side.

Setting fire to dancefloors with chopped breaks, deadly deep subs, soundclash mentality and pure euphoria. 

FFF started "djing" on 2 turntables (without pitch control) early 90s. Mixing mainly rave, techno and the sparse UK breakbeat hardcore imports that arrived at his local record shops. 
First steps into making music: combining sounds from vinyl mixed with tapeloops, sounds from his sisters keyboard and a lot of feedback. Things changed big time when his parents bought a PC and his friends turned him onto tracker software. 

Mid 90s he started the cassette label "Orange Socks" on which he released his own material plus music from his friends and artists he met through tapetrading. He released his first track on vinyl in 2001 (on the French Necromaniacs Industry label) and from then on kept releasing on  a wide range of labels (Planet Mu, Kool.Pop, Murder Channel, Prspct RVLT, Hong Kong Violence, Mindbender, Sozialistischer Plattenbau, Sprengstoff, Clash, K-produktions, Sonic Beligeranza, Ketacore, Encounters, Artcore, Dub Attack, Zero71) His first full length album "20.000 Hardcore Members Can't Be Wrong" was released on the Japanese Murder Channel Label in 2011. And the follow up "Keep The Fire" in 2013.

In 2001 Bong-Ra & FFF organized the Breakcore a GoGo parties. These became one of the first regular Breakcore nights in Europe. When BCGG ended in 2004, FFF continued to promote breakcore & Jungle on the monthly Wreck havoc nights which never officially stopped and still pop up once in a while. 

FFF is an obsessive vinyl collector. A trip to the record shop, flea market, thrift stores, record fair and the element of surprise that comes with crate digging are most of the times the basic inspiration for a new track. 

Live you can expect amen warfare, hoovers, rave horns and tropical vibes with elements of jungle, rave, bubbling, dancehall and gabber.
