⁣Frinda di Lanco & Hendrik Stein from Berlin are pushing airwaves together since 2018. A DJ duo with a deep love for obscure vinyl records and a wild and vibrant mixture ranging from AOR, cosmic, italo, library and disco that never fails to surprise us with the unexpected. Together the couple is spreading joy on dance floors all over Europe. With 'Avec Plaisir' the two founded their own label imprint and re-released an enchanting collection of Austrian Cosmic tracks from the ’90s. We hope you enjoy this wonderful selection as much as we do.


Frinda & Hendrik on their mix : “After listening to the recording from lovely RIAA Bar in September, we decided to go for exactly the same vibe – since that night was special in many ways. It only happened because our gig at Pudel got cancelled due to a double-booking but we had our train tickets already. So instead of bringing a selection of Italian Disco and dance music to Hamburg, we focussed on those records which we usually play to close friends in a home-listening context and that have a certain place in our hearts. At this night we also met Andrea who was enjoying our selection a lot and asked us if we’d like to record this mix you’re just about to listen.“ 💫

"A raag is a set of rules, it is a framework inside which the artist makes a musical journey. What fascinates me when listening to a great 'hindustani music' artist are her choices at every phrase. The journey she chooses to spontaneously make and take herself and us down a path never explored before. 
In the second raag of this mix, Kishori Amonkar sings the raag Bhoop, a pentatonic scale - sa re ga pa da sa (do re mi so la do). With these five notes she creates a profound experience. 
Like every classical music form, this too is an acquired taste. But I grew up inside this music, breathing it. I hope it resonates with you and takes you on a journey."

A collector by nature, Isabel began experimenting what DJing could be like in 2019, focusing in collecting hidden and forgotten sounds recorded in cassettes over time. It’s in this field that she asserts herself as Son Objet, where her approach to Djing goes from the selection of bizarre and cosmic sonorities from the diy cassette culture movement, combining them with less conventional current compositions. Her main resources are cuts and loops that are infinitely juxtaposed throughout the set to transition and build the narrative thread that wanders between introspection and dance. Along this electronic route, paths focused on psychedelia are outlined, also highlighting spoken words and sound collage.

"I wanted it groovie and emotional. Tracks that would either feel like nostalgia or happiness to me. I think now we decide."

I found this dub mix on my harddrive. I did it in 2011 (!) as an opener for the shows of the Quasi Dub Development, when we were touring Germany and Denmark. It starts with an "Upsetters" track that unlocked the doors for me, that opened the world into the wonderful wild ways of jamaican mixing. I did some rude scratchy overdubs here with squeaking doors, metal bowls, musique concrete, crazy organs .. pardon me I was young and it was fun ;) The mixing is kinda wild, hope You like it.

The Three Design are Andrea Wienck aka Mme Bing, Heiko Gogolin (both Pingipung) and Sebastian Kokus (Cloud Management, Love-Songs, TEOTH). They share a love for silly wordplay and bass-heavy grooves.
