꿈kkum series has presented unusual-deep stories of electronic/experimental music artists all around the world, it reaches the special 30th episode. The 30th episode accomplished by a very unique Japanese artist ENA who has destroyed the boundary of genres of modern electronic music leads us into the deepest supernatural dream created by meticulously designed sounds and irregular patterns during 52 min live performance.

The 30th 꿈kkum episode of ENA is released as both types of digital download and limited edition cassette tapes on vurt's Bandcamp page, and the music video by visual director Nahsol is uploaded on vurt's Youtube channel.

Boundless Beatz Podcast #54 - VILIFY

It is little to say that we are proud to share this latest addition in our podcast series. 

Sanjib (@sanjib-4) is one of the artists who was mentioned most quickly when we were looking for references for Exocet in 2019. His approach of a deep, organic, textured techno, drawing its influences from dub and nature, already was a big influence at that time. 

Since then, he produced a handful of EPs and two albums, "Lost Continent" and "Lost Planet", released respectively on Huinali and Annulled. We cherish his universe dedicated to travel and introspection that he declines in his his mixes and productions.

When we asked Sanjib if he wanted to associate a theme with this mix, he directly thought of ocean acidification.

Ocean acidification is the forgotten consequence of climate change. Or at least, one of the lesser publicized, compared to hurricanes, heat waves, droughts or floods. Yet it is a crucial issue : the food chain, the biodiversity and more generally the possibility of life in certain regions depend on it.

CO2 emissions are by far the primary cause of ocean acidification. Other causes involve agricultural activities and coastal pollution.

The issue of climate justice must be addressed here again. The first human populations to suffer the consequences of ocean acidification are not the ones that emit the most CO2. The levers for action are known and documented: reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and stopping massive deforestation. The most emitting countries must not only honor their promises, but also help the most affected populations to adapt.

FLO - Fragments LP (ft. Rakjay, Khromi & Oddkut)

London-based DJ Chanel Kadir channels a sound that is anything but basic. If anything, it’s about as expertly woven and layered as Gabrielle Chanel’s famous tweed suits. And, like the popular contemporary fashion house, it’s clear that she appreciates the finer details.

Whether it’s her fascination with leftfield music scenes or her multi-genre mixes that focus on mood, emotion, and texture, her willingness to explore the slower and more intricate corners of the art form – and her ability to freely express herself in such a manner – is refreshing to see from someone, who in her own words; has ‘only been djing a year’.

It’s a modest approach from someone far more advanced than she lets on. A quick look through her resume shows her lengthy tenure in electronic music. Starting out as a journalist and PR agent, her career has led her to work for the likes of Listen Up, Boiler Room, and Draaimolen Festival, as well as running her own PR agency, DAWN Creative, representing the likes of re:ni, CCL, Tristan Arp, Ciel, and more. She has also helped curate @wavdotworld, a mix and editorial series that highlights the ethics and importance around the craft of the DJ mix, while also running her brilliant ongoing mix series @Untitled909.

It’s the latter that has given Chanel a more introspective view into the depths of the craft. As she transitions from one side of the industry to the other – whether for her artists or her sets – it’s becoming clear that Chanel’s appeal lies in her ability to create stories. Her mix is a slow blend of sonically tactile psychedelic techno tracks that gradually merge and evolve into one another. In her interview with //SNCMAG, Chanel talks about her mix, Untitled #909 impact, and the ‘low-end psychedelia’ scene that’s capturing her attention.

Inzajeano, a seasoned producer with over 20 years of experience, delivers a nuanced exploration of dub techno with Sounds From The Darkroom. Each track is a shinning example of his ability to blend minimalism with emotional depth, creating an intricate sonic journey.
The EP opens with ‘#C’, where melancholic piano notes float over a crisp, airy backdrop. Episode #26 is dedicated to Repertoire - one of the finest independent jungle / drum and bass record labels established in 2009. Law, Ben Repertoire, Wheeler, Kola Nut and RUNDR are the main people behind the label and there are also the sub labels R-WHITES and SAFE.RAVER focused on different productions at various tempos. The Repertoire gang released a lot of incredible music by the main crew members as well as other artists like Tim Reaper, Ricky Force, Overlook, Double O, Mantra, Artilect, Ilk, Eusebeia, Concealed Identity, Senses, DJ Sofa, Thing, Acid Lab, Necrotype, Pugilist & Tamen, Kid Lib, Madcap, DJ Trax, Djinn, Dwarde, Soul Intent and many, many more.

This show's been a long time coming and I always felt like I don't have enough records to fully represent the label, but now with 21 releases from the Repertoire catalogue in my collection I think the mix will do it justice. After my set there is also a special guest mix by Ben Repertoire filled with fresh dubs, a few Repertoire classics and 2 tracks from the latest EP on the label by Settle Down (aka Greg from ex Ulterior Motive) & LMajor.

In February me and my wife went to London and decided to visit Planet Wax for Soul Intent's "Fight The Future" EP launch party. Ben Repertoire was one of the DJs playing that night, so it was great to finally meet him in person (after a few facebook chats about music and some vinyl orders from the Repertoire bandcamp over the years). We had a great time and I'm really thankful that he agreed to record a guest mix for the show.
