Hi. I was wondering is there any progress with that old device. I have old Huawei HG532e model taken out of the closet from the basement and want to flash openwrt build firmware just like user:routednbooted did. Its not about that i cant afford decent hardware i already has cisco and mikrotik routers but want to make this device usable for example wifi-repeater instead to go in trash... you know.


My name is Sebastian and I'm very new to custom firmware for wifi routers, and I need some help before I brick my router. I've got a Huawei HG532 modem / router that I would like to install openwrt into in order to convert it to a repeater, so I can give wifi to a part of my house that does not reach the main modem (another HG532) Somewhere else on this forum I saw that some people could install a version of the firmware in the hg but I don't quite understand if its possible. In the wiki for the HG532 mentions that is possible to install it, but again, I'm not sure on how to do it, and if it would work.


I have the same exact problem! I can´t solve it, idk if is the firmware of my hawuei hg532e or is something with the printer... I am afraid of upgrade the firmware of the modem cuz some people on blogs say tht the upgrade went wrong with their modem

If you are trying to load this dump file in another brand with same board then picture may be distorted or inverted. so, in this case enter to factory settings or service menu by pressing Service Menu Code on remote control and change LVDS Mapping setting to clear the picture. In some boards mirror/inverted image option is not available in factory setting so in this case change the flash dump file as per panel specifications. Before changing any setting value in the service menu, make sure you know about it well otherwise it is highly recommended that do not change any setting without proper guidance otherwise you get into the problem.



Huawei modem recently and I got a flash of the

If any version of the Turkish firmware, leaving the flash I was accepted but could not accept the English firmware

But during my search, I feel that there is a way!
When a hex editor program

 word in English would add firmware flash when flash operation, but at the end accepts and even the Turkish!!


I was not even aware if any Turkish firmware but it sounds like putting this on your router has broken it other then a factory reset they maynot be a lot that can be done if this firmware dies not allow it to be reflashed in English
