"Circa drei Jahre ist es her: Mein erster Tunnelrave von OCTA. Eine Erfahrung, die mich wortwörtlich dazu bewegte, Techno zu meinem Hobby zu machen. 

Nach vielen unvergesslichen Nächten und Raves gab es einen großen Cut in der Musikszene: Covid. Zeit, umzudenken. 

Begleitet durch die viele Zeit zuhause, unzählige Streams und die Community von MRD, begann auch ich selbst zu produzieren. Viele Bekannt- und musikalische Errungenschaften später ist dieses Hobby ein fester Bestandteil in meinem Leben geworden. 

Seitdem stöbere ich nach unbekannteren Künstler:innen, Tracks, Labels und neuen Genres oder Vocal Edits. Und auf der Suche nach der kleinen versteckten Botschaft in und um Techno.

Dieses Set erzählt daher meine Story der letzten ungefähr drei Jahre - von groovigen Techno bis hin zu Psytrance. Viel Spaß beim Hören!"

@D!RCH is a 43 year old DJ from Cologne. He found his love for techno in clubs like the Warehouse in Cologne or the Poison Club in Düsseldorf. Already in 1996 he had his first record player. His club career started with the Nurböse Fetish event where he is still resident DJ. His style he would describe as "aggressive" mixed with the sounds of his roots in the 90's, which come to the fore through acid-heavy and driving passages in his sets.

Masta Ace is in the house. The New York rap legend, originally part of the famed Juice Crew in the mid-80s (with Marley Marl, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane among others), is known for collaborations with artists such as MF Doom, for influencing rappers like Eminem, and is still known as one of the truest rappers alive. Ace made a teenage dream come true for Cord when he recorded an original feature part and hook on top of the soulful club joint ‚Good Old Feel‘.

The scratch & sample workout and the handcut artwork of this release is paying hommage to ‚A Long Hot Summer‘ (2004), one of his many timeless storytelling LPs, where Ace writes reminiscent rhymes in his natural habitat of Brownsville, Brooklyn but is organically relocated into the streets of Berlin Kreuzberg - right next to the good old Robosonic studios, birthplace of ‚Golden Era House‘. This unreleased Black Out version is now boasting the full vocal performance, while the extended 12inch dub was made for the clubs and pressed on vinyl earlier.
