In 2002 Michael Newell (southernkiwi) put together a collection of his favourite bootleg recordings collected during that year. That first edition went on to become 1 of 14 that became synonymous in the world of South Island Law & Order. At his death his bootleg music collection had surpassed 20,000 recordings, all meticulously catalogued and stored in hi definition in a purpose built space at the back his Dunedin home. Dad passed away on the 17th August 2014 and last Christmas went by without southerkiwi. As the second Christmas without Dad approaches I found myself listening to some of my favourites. Please enjoy this 'best of' southernkiwi's xmas CDs, share it, play it in the car, at Xmas or even in the Law Courts. Please remember it is Never For Sale.

We took Fritz to Limerick Forest in Oxford Station, Ontario, Canada for an afternoon to enjoy some peace and quiet. Here's what he heard in the 15 minutes or so we left him by himself.

This is a true 3D binaural audio soundscape, created with the Neumann KU 100 dummy head microphone. Listen with headphones and turn the volume up just until the ambient sound seems natural (note, the gusts of wind did get fairly strong at times that day).
