Rapidly becoming a truly iconic series, we at The Fat! Club are proud to present the tenth edition in our hugely celebrated free EP series, shining a light on some of the most promising new underground talent around at the moment.
West Midlands trio blckshdw flip Sampha into the next dimension and Sheffield’s Utah get knee-deep in the swamp. We also have a gorgeous re-interpretation of Erikah Badou’s classic On and On from Nomis; then for the house heads there’s the skippy percussion of Latcha and the faultless grooves of Spike O’Connell. Perfik!

Established in 1997, The Fat! Club encompasses a blog, the much loved Fat! Records, London clubbing legend Chew The Fat!, artist agency TFA Bookings and a management arm.
This historic commitment to UK underground music and culture has seen Chew The Fat! host arenas at festivals across the UK and Europe, monthly parties around the globe and seven consecutive summer residencies at We Love… Sundays, at the world famous Space in Ibiza.

If you’re looking for something even harder from the EP, then look no further than Sheffield's Utah, whose Flirting with various shades of UK house and Berlin techno, a sound which is rife up north at the moment, this track will certainly raise as many eyebrows as it will clenched fists, but that’s exactly why Made appeals to us so innately. A fantastic club tool.

"Following on from a string of successful EPs & remixes for Four40 Records, Mistajam’s Speakerbox imprint and Tumble Audio, Dartford duo I Killed Kenny return to the fore with their much anticipated… Militant EP. Delivering an unrelenting amalgam of high energy UK house, garage, grime and at times, even techno, this new output precisely showcases the pair’s distinct and versatile sound; whilst also demonstrating a clear evolution in their craft. In bold and innovative fashion the boys are offering up the four-tracker completely free via their Facebook/Dropify page on Monday 9th December.

Opening with garage roller ‘Nobody’, centred around a tight 2-steppy rhythm and pulsating bass; the slick instrumental becomes crystalised as IKK, once again, utilise the vocal prowess of Jamie George (Rinse). With Jamie’s signature top-line transposed to a raw and venomous monologue, ‘Nobody’ is primed for the floor; also supplied is a dub mix for the more club-centric DJ.

Next up, ‘Gimme That’ transmits powerful 808 kicks alongside shuffling percussion harnessed by warped, industrial synths; coupled with soulful vocal stabs, ‘Gimme That’ is a certified crowd pleaser in any habitat.

Militant EP reaches its climax with the dark & eerie percy ‘Highwind’; contributing punchy drums, heavyweight-sub and a chilling aura yielding a resounding closer.

I Killed Kenny have had a prolific 18 months releasing 2 consecutive Juno chart-topping EPs, collaborating with Jamie George & Slick Don respectively. ‘Lets Go EP’ quickly became an archetypal underground classic: playlisted on Rinse FM, featuring on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM, placed in a JD Sports advertising campaign and in store at River Island nationwide; soon after ‘Crux EP’ dominated the airwaves and firmly cemented the duo’s place within the bass music scene.

Since then IKK have received heavy-rotation on & provided adrenaline-fuelled guestmixes for Radio 1, 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Kiss FM, XFM, Choice FM, Asian Network & more; impressing tastemakers such as B.Traits, Diplo, Eddy Temple-Morris and Roska in the process. They presently host their own show on the pioneering Nasty FM (founded by Marcus Nasty & Mak10). Over the course of summer the twosome have DJ’d a series of festival dates including a capacity crowd set on the Temple stage at this year’s iconic Glastonbury festival…
