Oldenburg-based DJ, Producer and co-founder of the established Unartig.-collective Firek leaves his first impression on Instinkt Lab. He's always evolving his sound by reuniting analogue as well as digital soundscapes. Now we're more than happy to finally release his debut EP.

„Introduce“
The opening track is made of different carefully crafted layers of hunting bells and aims for an ultimate but nevertheless subtile peak-time weapon with its seemingly never ending building-up energy.

„What Do You Fear?“
.. is the question you have to ask yourself in order to give this track the perfect stampmark. These percussive rythms combined with a nearly emotionless atmosphere let arise a drivinglike sound experience.

„On Your Own“
While the third track quickly enganges you in a kind of trance with its vocalsample and loophole-driven character, however only the groovy peculiarity of the track brings you back to reality.

„Tool“
This DJ-Tool only consists of hardware-generated sounds of the DX21, TR-8 & MS20. While letting the machines speech, this timeless piece is especially made for laying peak-time & dancefloor-oriented techno tunes.

As music is a universal language that connects cultures beyond borders and we are an independent platform focused on underground electronic music and arts, at this time we stand for peace, so we curated a Various Artists compilation to raise money to help Ukrainian artists during these hard times.

A lot of producers from many countries responded to our initiative, swiftly building on an archive that incorporates various shades and styles of electronic music, from laid-back and serene soundscapes to driving rhythms and textures. The first volume features 15 tracks signed by Ilya Yansima, Maayan Nidam feat. Life on planets, Matheiu & Max Jacobson, Nils Weimann, Odette, Orbit, Paul K, Peshka, Pîrvu, Ramona Yacef & Bill It, Shato, Unisson, Valeria Croft and Yaroslav Lenzyak.

All revenues collected from the sales will be directed to the bank accounts of the Ukrainian artists with whom we managed to get in touch, such as Animated Sounds, Peshka, Komponente, Yansima, Ilya Cheise, Vlad Barocco, Orbit as well as the initiative launched by Antipina Anna and Silat Beksi.

Jonas Rathsman announces his latest offering with cutting-edge innovators Crosstown Rebels. ‘Complex’ featuring Josef Salvat is released on 10th June 2016.

This is a tech-blues odyssey, an introverts primal scream, where complex emotions and urges are vented and perfectly complemented by Rathsman’s explorations into the dark corners of electronic music. Enjoy the journey. With the release only in the hands of a select few tastemaker DJs, ‘Complex’ has been making waves at the recent Miami Winter Music Conference, “receiving hands in the air welcomes and even a sit down ovation” according to label boss Damian Lazarus. ‘Complex’ is set to be the first underground anthem of 2016.

The release comes with two carefully chosen remixes. First up is Swiss techno stalwart Deetron, who steers the song into percussive acid oblivion while Serge Devant offers up his deep house expertise for a dramatic and driving offbeat cut.

With his instantly recognisable sound, Jonas has found praise the world over for his keen ear and transcendent sets, which have captivated listeners on both the international club and festival scenes.

Following his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, Rathsman continues to showcase his technical capabilities and impressive track selection with his bi-monthly mix series ‘ELEMENTS’, now on its fourth instalment.

Yoshihiro Sawasaki: Peach Time

Using their lockdown time wisely the More Rice camp are back with their most ambitious project yet. “Harvest Vol. 1” a 14 track compilation featuring old and new friends from across Asia. The selection kicks off on a South Korean tip with the sparkling synth and percussive offering on Seoul Community Radio afﬁliate Closet Yi’s “X Dots”, Go Dam’s scratchy lead line pumper “I’m Not Glad To See You” and, the man behind More Rice’s last releases, Mogwaa’s driving “Mirarboles”. We then head to the Philippines for Lustbass & the Hernandez Brothers apocalyptic drum work out “The End of Time”, Saint Guel’s tripping groover “Still Life” and Similarobjects’ (taking a brief moment off from showing the whole world how to stream properly) “Analogmigraine” which charts a journey from stuttering IDM break patterns to acidic techno leanings and back again, complete with lush chill out plucks. Next stop Karachi, for Rudoh’s “Mo Money” a wiggly, aquatic, electro-breakbeat roller. We then take a brief detour in Hong Kong for Romain FX’s “Acid Tiger” which does exactly what it says on the tin, meaty acid lines and Carole Baskin enraged roaring tigers. Up next is USA born Indian producer Snad’s dreamy breakbeat roller “Put It In My Parenthesis” and Tokyo producer Spangleman’s crafty jazz infused “Ham”. The ﬁnal four tracks of the record focus on Thailand, with label co-bosses DOTT’s fast paced bassline groover “Another Rescue Attempt” and Sarayu’s airy “Bang Sue Junction”. Fellow Bangkok-scene colleague Wong Echo provides the penultimate “If False, Continue”, a dystopian chugger, before local hero Marmosets concludes with ghostly, modular work out “Mork”.
