It felt amazing to let myself go this way last Sunday at Sisyphos Berlin. What an incredible crowd that merged everything together to become one unique thing, under fast but yet trippy and warm beats. Many tracks were loaded into this set. It's a constant combination of different elements, external drums, loops, my own bass lines and pads through Ableton Live, with the support of my beloved MODEL1 mixer which I use to sculpt the frequencies trying my best to make it all sound as if it was one single evolving track.

Dancers, night-clubs, artists, creators, experiences, visionaries… Every moment and every person along the path of Fabio’s journey from childhood, to nightlife promoter, to present day music producer, creator, disc jockey, nemophilist, brand ambassador, label owner, lover and giver – Has left a deeply rooted and centred impression within the soul and spirit of the Fabio Florido we encounter today.

From the structured confines of a conservative training, to what he actually considers ''going to music school" amongst the sweaty early ravers of Italy's underground scene; to training a watchful eye on electronic music legends from the front row of late night London club sets, to Ibiza’s residencies, to the intensity of Berlin’s techno scene, to performing at many of the world’s best clubs and festivals. All included within the lifelong process of his spiritual path and a more recent embark on the discovery of healing frequencies.

Labels like MINUS, SCI+TEC, SECOND STATE, MOOD, PLUS8 were early to spot Fabio's signature appeal and harness it for solo and split releases. Followed by the opening of his own imprint “RUNA”, a label carved by profound frequencies and transmuted into a broad vision of techno & ambient music. Pursued with the creation of his ambient/shamanic alias: DISENTHRALL.

In his own words, each of Fabio's interactions has culminated in him arriving at this exact point: balancing his compulsive passion for music creation with his passionate consumption of nightlife alongside the discovery, admiration and contemplation of natural realms, in constant pursuit of forward-looking sounds, tools and technology. Not to mention becoming the brand ambassador for the forward thinking MODEL1 mixer collective.

Db Artists Musique Podcast - 094 - Fabio Florido

This week´s AMFM is another CLR Podcast special edition, this time from myself, as I am releasing the 100th release of my label CLR. It is called “Time’s Up EP” and contains two originals by myself and a fantastic moody emotional remix by the one and only Ralf Hildenbeutel, the man with whom I did both albums “Burn Slow” and “Another Day” for the legendary Mute label. So this release goes full circle for me. No better way than to celebrate this release with a CLR Podcast that I recorded at the Coachella festival, which happened in California in April. It was the second time after 2018 that I got to play in the Yuma tent of that fantastic festival. This tent is run by the crew of the Sound Nightclub in Hollywood and has an insane line up and production. I am definitely happy to be a part of that again. The mix contains quite a few unreleased bits from my label, of course all three tracks of the CLR 100 release, as well as great promos from others and I start it off with my latest club remix for my “Another Day“ album track “Cause & Effect” that will be soon out on Mute. It is a 90 minute set, so for those who only get to hear the 60 min “radio version”, please go over to Mixcloud Select, find my channel and listen to the whole set without my voice overs and downloadable on your phone.
