Don Peligro - CALMA

Over the last few years, Bristol born, London based artist LCY has become one of the guiding lights in a scene of fans who like their club music deep, dark and with a heavy dose of rhythm. Releasing predominantly on their own label SZNS7N, LCY has transcended musical boundaries, taking from a wide range of musical influences to create their own fluid hybrid style that indulges the deepest desires of those who chase a visceral dancefloor response - uplifting a huge amount of unconventional producers alongside them in the process. Today marks the announcement of their first release on fabric Originals, the flagship label from global club imprint fabric, alongside a new single, ‘Bad Blood’.

LCY’s He Hymns EP, released digitally on 5th May and on vinyl 19th May via fabric Originals, is a dynamic exploration of LCY’s search for self within songs of worship, and how movement has provided a solace from inner turmoil. Simultaneously warm and unrelentingly intense, He Hymns perfectly sets the stall for LCY’s vision for the club; transporting the listener to an alternate future in which the driving heart of electronic music sits unapologetically at the fore. He Hymns is dynamic, confounding club music that is still inherently propulsive - ready to lift the curtain on a new level of invention within the electronic space.

We're excited to share this smoldering mix from @aiel_el, a Producer and DJ working with left-field contemporary music and pop aesthetics. Her sound is a blend of organic and electronic components that defy music genres and create a unique sonic realm that feature unconventional rhythms, glitchy textures and hypnotic melodies. Blending contrary forces, AIEL's work focuses on imaginative, storytelling narratives.

“While building the story line of this mixtape during pride season I had in mind how the queer community has been dissected from both inwards and outwards. A comment on the polarisation and commercialisation of the community and a comment on the trauma and pain-infliction driven society. Through mixing diverse tracks and styles I wanted to create a hyper-tech mythology for the marginalised, the underdogs and the underrepresented. The name of the mixtape itself, Boilme Room, is an ironic statement on how the music industry has become a stage exclusively designed for the socially, mentally and financially advantaged.” - AIEL
