This one really caught my attention. Closed my eyes, instantly!

We’re never really that sure about whether the term 'veteran' should be taken as a compliment by those it’s directed at - often it's just an easy way for us writers to get across the feeling that said artist has been in this game for quite some time and provided an honourable service to the cause. But it's exactly that sentiment that we feel gives due weight to the life experience that saw <a href="http://www.fabriclondon.com/artist/view/neville-watson" target="_blank">Neville Watson</a> witness the summer of love and the dawn of house music coming over to the UK in 1988 - as well as the time and dedication he offered to running his Windsor based, Mighty Atom record shop and label <em>and</em> holding a residency at the Berkshire region's Checkpoint Charlie parties.

Watson’s kind of seen and done a lot, but it wasn't until more recent years he propelled his production projects fully into gear, releasing his debut long player for TLR's upstanding Hague based imprint Creme Organisation last year. The album spurned a fresh wave of energy into his DJ career and created a time where he’s actually never been busier. It's odd then, considering the years he’s dedicated to music, that it’s this summer that’ll see Watson prepare to debut his first solo live set (before now he's only stepped up to perform as a duo with KiNK) and we have the privilege of hosting this monumental happening this coming Saturday for the 20 Years of Subculture celebration in Room Three. 

So, as part of his preparation, the acid house aficionado has put together a 20 minute teaser from his warm up sessions to amp up our already sky high expectations of what’s in store this coming Saturday night…

French producer and hardware specialist @amandraaa returns to Nous'klaer with four stoic, minimal club tracks that are so delicate and deftly produced that they beg to heard as loud as possible and as quietly as possible, allowing the listener to inspect every nook and cranny of Amandra's sonic tapestry. Opener "Lavanvilla" rides a simple drum loop that's filled out by gated, beautiful noise that gets punctuated by vibey Rhodes 7th chord and a constantly evolving 16th percussion pattern that gracefully pushes that song forward. "Palette Doree" and "Edition Collector" are Amandra's most swung offerings, lively sampled percussion and lush synths that offer endless breathing space for these beautiful numbers to exhale. "Pana Ondine" is the dance floor workhorse with a soft and punchy kick, rough stabbing bass hook, wispy ride and a mesmerizing arpeggio, the track never calls your attention loudly but instead gently lures you into its grasp.

Club-oriented A-side opens with “It’s me bb” tailored by Alfred Czital, setting an intimate, yet vibrant tone of the compilation, followed by Jamida's melodic “Lots Of Love” infused in harmonic vocals.

Side B navigates through deeper-end density fields, suitable on or off the dance floor. Poygonia's “Akkala” encompasses tribal traditions and pulsing beats, while Andy Garvey's Euphorique is finding balance between divine pads and collapsing percussion, wrapping up the compilation.
