I've been listening to Essential mixes since I first started getting into clubs and electronic music, so it was a shock, and exciting for me, to get the offer to make one myself. The two hour format really allows some time to explore ideas musically as well.

So bringing everything together, I decided to try and make it an exploration of everything that has made me so obsessed with electronic music for the last 20 years, with some of my favourite records from the mid 90's, unreleased material from my favourite artists like Nils Frahm, Lusine, Tim Hecker and Rob Clouth, and a range of genres from ambient to 90 bpm electronica, house and techno, all the way up to 170bpm glitched jungle mayhem - I thought, why not have some fun with it!?

So it's certainly not a normal club mix, it's just what I think is the best music out there, without worrying about what genre or box any particular track fits into or how things should be done "properly". I wanted to leave some sections quite ambient as well, to give breathing space between the peaks, so I'm happy to be able to post this new version up, minus the broadcast talking and idents.

CREDO is a multimedia musical theatre project produced by Fabrica Musica
in co-production with the Staatstheater of Karlsruhe. The project, which 
focuses on the theme of ethnic and religious conflicts, obtained the support 
of the European Community in the context of Culture 2000. 
CREDO has been realized also thanks to the special contribution of young musicians, selected by Fabrica in those countries where the centrai topics 
of the project are particularly relevant. These musicians played live, connected via satellite, from the cities of Jerusalem, Istanbul and Belfast, for the performance in Karlsruhe (Germany) on Aprii 30th 2004, together with the Badische Staatskapelle of Karlsruhe. 
This CD contains pieces the musicians conceived and played for the première.

Open Sky

We explore the relationship between sound and objects, spaces, people and interactions. We use sound as a starting point, but the outcome might be objects, media, events and artefacts. Sound is one of the least understood yet most powerful senses and we produce self-directed research projects, in collaboration with partners, that explore the power of sound as interface, as medium, and as environment. These are often installations or artefacts, produced via a multidisciplinary team capable of producing spaces, media, objects and sounds as holistic experiences. We design new interfaces and experience around music, as well as exploring new formats and models for music and musicians in addition to making and performing music.
