Rock, indie dance, electronic - and amidst this singular and cubist chemistry, a powerful voice of multiple traits. At times it resembles a fiction film soundtrack, or a modern-noir; at other times the fresh and lively outfits stand out. This, at a glance, is Fabrik’s first album, to be released April 2013.

As the introduction reveals, this project is the outcome of an unexpected get together: Karina Zeviani (singer and composer, ex-Thievery Corporation and Nouvelle Vague, who has recently released her first solo album - Amor Inventado - through Som Livre label); Pedro Guedes (composer with classical music degree, who has composed for various television channels and films, including Elite Squad); Guto Guerra (music producer and TV host for Música Na Mochila program at BIS/Multishow HD channel); and Serhan Ozmen (a.k.a. “Superstringz”, with original productions and remixes for artists such as
The Japanese Popstars, Losers and Brian Molko, in labels such as Gung Ho! Recordings, Virgin EMI and Ministry of Sound, and soundtracks for long and short films in Brazil and abroad. Serhan’s ‘Superstringz’ productions have enjoyed continued support from London Xfm’s Eddy Temple-Morris, in his legendary ‘The Remix’ radio show.).

Pedro and Guto, who are also partners at an established Brazilian music branding agency, already composed for big brands’ fashion shows. Together with Serhan, in 2012 they produced the soundtrack for Osklen’s A21 collection, which was also chosen as soundtrack for the São Paulo Fashion Week’s official video. In this moment, the music that was then the beginning of Fabrik’s sounds followed a dark and mysterious course.

For Osklen’s following fashion show, Endless Summer, Pedro and Guto invited Karina to the team. As expected, with a new energy brought through her vocals, their music gained a more “pop” sound. Serhan joined the group once again, defining Fabrik’s current formation.

Throughout its maturing time, the band had the opportunity to play in New York, at Osklen’s debut at NYFW. Supporters, such as Oskar Metsavaht (Osklen’s founder) and Eduardo Varela (art director), also joined in to add value to the project’s visual aspects, consolidating its DNA with an essential connection to fashion and the arts.

The music in the band’s first album portrait their short but already intense history. A dark feature, from A21’s days, blends with the softness of tracks such as Let Me In, and with the colorfulness of Here We Go - resulting in balance that encapsulates the project as a whole that can be heard in Ode, inspired in Pablo Neruda’s poem Ode to Clothes.

Current and cool, Fabrik intends to tour Brazil and the rest of the world.
