WL//WH is very pleased to premiere "Blocage Violent", the fourth song from Impair Pierre's forthcoming 12-track debut album, "Promenades de Jour", due out this November 2, 2023, via London-based DIY label Meta Moto.
Somehow recalling the melancholy-laden vibrant wave of early Indochine entangled with The Cure-like sparkly baritone 6-string hypnotism, "Blocage Violent", sound-wise, is an obsessive pain-staking release of anxiety...with wistful, restless vocals reciting an extensive list of items blocked on a personal computer to avoid discomfort.

Impair Pierre is the new alias of French electronic multi-instrumentalist and composer Léonard Lampion (also part of Hard Lab and Peep Night), created as an escape route from dark basements and the influence of club music. Since 2017, Impair Pierre has been writing songs in his office in Grenoble, that oscillate between Minimal Wave and Post-punk, using synthesizers, guitar, and voice. Finding inspiration in the events of everyday life, he seeks to develop a form of minimalism.
omenades de jour - this record developed from a desire to write songs that were relatively refined and spontaneous. It brings together experiments with the Yamaha PS-20 synth, songs imbued with a certain melancholy, and others with a more satirical bent. The record is a succession of photos, landscapes, and situations both real and imaginary, like a walk in the spring sun.

Fresh from delivering one of the most distinctive and imaginative Shoegaze albums of the year, the last March debut "Dreamers in Dark Cities" via Shelflife Records, the Melbourne / Naarm, Australia-based five-peace Oceans, currently on a New Zealand tour, have already started jamming and composing new tunes for an intriguing follow-up in the new year, whose first foretaste, titled “Laura”, written by the New Zealand singer/songwriter Mayzie, the band was kind enough to premiere on WL//WH, and we’re super excited to share it with you.

Oceans' upcoming single, "Laura", is due out independently on December 12th via the major digital platforms, while the band's sophomore album is scheduled to be released sometime in mid-2014.

"Hope and Mind It" tells the story of three young artists (Voyager Solar System, ILYSS, and Quim) lost in the mesmerizing embrace of late-night jam sessions. "Whales" is an evocative underwater fantasy that blends softly droning, glowing and enveloping emotive synth pads with cicada-like hisses, aquatic FXs, light whale whistles, slow metronomic lashing beats, and bass heart pulses, to manifest a vigilant stillness, where the listener is surrounded by other life forms, albeit mysterious and not human.

Payta's new album sees her take that warm analogue feel from her live sets and channel it into a stunning release full of slowly evolving hypnotic soundscapes.
Side A of the cassette is a collection of fleeting, electronica and IDM influenced sketches. Ephemeral bursts of melody and cascading rhythms combining to create a colourful and vivid mosaic of sounds.

Letherique's Bella Ursa Recordings presents "Marked For Disassembly" EP from Lab Personnel.
Hailing from Croatia, Lab Personnel is a musical collaboration turned collective and label between many like-minded artists such as Goran Lautar (aka Neon Lies), Jasmin Mahmić (aka Le Chocolat Noir, Fiume & more), Luka Kurjan (aka Man of Cloth), Marijan Katić, Nikola Kos (aka Ikonal) and Saša Rajković (aka Zarkoff, part of Sumerian Fleet, part of Neugrau & more). Over the years, they would occasionally meet for and record lengthy sessions of improvisational music. 'Marked for Disassembly' is their latest output. This time, deep within the skeletal remains of an abandoned chemical processing plant, eight of their members captured the disquieting essence of a world suspended between haunting melodies and forgotten industry. Immersed in an atmosphere of palpable musical anxiety, their machines oozed up a sonic alchemy of experimental EBM where strange syncopated drums meet with eerie acid lines and gooey textures.

One of the two uncanny cuts, "L'infidele", co-written with Dr Joseph Mbenga, through the use of urban environmental found sounds, somehow echoes the eerie atmosphere of sacred and profane that can be felt in the spirited area surrounding Turin's Porta Palazzo, between its sprawling effervescent multicultural market and the surrounding ancient devotional sites.
A long 13-minute hauntingly immersive sonic journey that converges on the unsettling presence of a doomsday preacher whose amplified foreboding sermons resonate on the backdrop of a mercurial array of off-kilter synth samples, ritual and ancestral shifting percussion patterns, manipulated feedback, metallic clanks, noisy drone textures, and mesmerizing exotic instrumental inflexions, to create a sentient claustrophobic vibe of discomfort and tension before expanding into a skewed and chaotic release.
