WL//WH is pleased to premiere the new distorted and caustic leftfield Proto-Techno jam, titled "Morbido Morte" by the  Swedish, relocated to the North West of Italy via Bordeaux, eclectic off-kilter electronic musician-producer Johan Gustafsson (from synth-punk act Black Bug), AKA Svezia Inferno, a foretaste from a forthcoming EP via his own label La Società del Malessere.

A gritty, oppressive and decadent slow-spinning seething combination of coarse skewed Techno and blistering dusky Industrial atmospherics, drenched in modern dystopic distress.

The enigmatic artist drives his machines into a bitterly corrosive, Industrial-dusted, mind-bending agony of "Soft Death / Morbido Morte", to buzz and screech, replete with a frenzied, stark and claustrophobic edge, through a harshly vibrating and dangerously pulsing misty tunnel, exhausted by menacing bursts of crushing, jerky bass lines, taut kicks, and punchy snares, instilling a granular urban mechanical underworld, where a sudden shifting warmly swelling low-end tone, along with urgent hypnotic rhythms, unearth obsessive swarms of angsty stacking hollow knocks, distorted whistles, and serpentine shakes from a forbidden subconscious realm of stabbing paranoia and dread.

Up next on Bricolage is the debut EP from Cortecx. 

Ryan Doherty is a Scottish producer, Glasgow born and bred, now based in Hong Kong. Cortecx has slowly but surely worked on evolving his techniques and process for several years now and has sculpted a unique take on all things rhythmic based along the way.

If you are familiar with our "Turadh" compilation from last year then you may be aware of his phenomenal track, "Reflections".

The "Above The Clouds" EP takes things up a notch. Cerebral techno that pulls you in to another dimension. We start things off with a bubbly and edgeless ambient soundscape that gently sinks its way into your consciousness. After that we enter the darker side of Cortecx with two shadowy and dynamic tracks that bring his relentless and powerful percussive elements to the forefront. The weighty rhythms propel both tracks skyward in a meticulous manner while the mysterious layers of sound design add an extra enigmatic elements to the already hypnotic mood that glimmers throughout.

Cortecx closes out proceedings with the astonishing "Plasma". An epic journey that best encapsulates his talents for mixing atmospherics and tempo. A sonic excursion of thumping kicks that come shrouded in emotive tones and crystalline pads. A mesmerizing ending to a stellar debut release.

For our next release, we welcome the enigmatic producer, 'The New Human', to the label with his stunning album, "Proximity Mantra".

"The New Human" isn't afraid to wear his influences on his sleeve. Proudly incorporating the late 90's/early 2000's IDM methodology into his own techniques to create a curious blend of ambient, glitch and twisted yet mellow electronica.

The eight tracks on show here provide us with a myriad of ever evolving and crunchy percussion. Beats that stretch, warp and turn. Each pattern waiting to uncoil and mangle into the next.

Then there's the dark and deep basslines that provide the ideal backdrop for these shuffling and effervescent soundscapes. But it's not all bass and complex beats. There's a whole host of technicolour and expressive melodies in the quieter moments that allow 'The New Human' to showcase his knack for exploratory synth work. Glacial harmonics intertwine with classic IDM bleeps that succeed in carrying the tracks into evocative territory.

The album is rounded out with two remixes. Inverness based producer, Beira, provides her own spiky and chaotic take on "Phoenix" before label boss, Fragile X, dissolves "Thought Patterns" into an ambient electronica journey to close out the release.

’Trystero’, the debut full-length album of Stockholm-based composer Theodor Kentros, could easily be interpreted as “just” an assemblage of pieces written between 2021-2024. Named after the paranoid hallucination (or, if said hallucination is real, the underground secret mail system) figuring in the 1966 Thomas Pynchon novel ‘The Crying of Lot 49’, it should rather be perceived as a very distinct, coherent stream running through his output during these years.

The six tracks – ranging in sound and disposition from serialised organ drones constructed to reach screeching and beautiful culminations, to minimalist, repetitive studies in tape loops and string synthesis – were composed and recorded in Stockholm and Visby at different occasions during down-time from his many other projects, which includes a myriad of other commissions, co-running labels XKatedral and Kalkatraz Cassettes and touring with punk groups and solo shows.

In October he embarks on a west-coast US-tour in relation to the album being released. Moloton are proud to present ‘Trystero’ on a limited edition of 200 vinyl LPs.

SES1 set out what quality electro means for Shipwrec. The first in the series brought together six musicians from far and wide, musicians who journey through the colder edge of their analogue instruments with a clear ear for the floor. SES2 starts where its predecessor left off. The genre bending Ian Martin opens with the frigid funk of “Metaphysical Travellers.” Stripped back, the track is bare in terms of its elements. Despite such meagre ingredients, Martin concocts an engaging and rich work of darkened grooves and sinister undercurrents. o-0._.0-o is the playful pseudonym of acid freetekno enthusiast Owen. His contribution, “Acidrobotik”, releases a free and wandering 303 lines that forges a bubbling path through crisp percussion. The flip brings an artist better known for his work in techno. Cliche Morph delves into the clinical side of his palette and emerges with the stunning “Placebo.” Balancing alienated and arctic blasts with a thawing warmth, the outcome is pure classic electro. A rising star of machine music follows, Fleck E.S.C. A dirty bassline is further sullied by layers of gritty distortion and glitched vocals in this re-wired work of ghetto. A legend of electronics closes, Kirill Junolainen. Under his lauded Konerytmi moniker, this synthesiser shapeshifter delivers “Kuva Alkio.” Stuttering bass and tight drums are the foundation from which sci-fi inspirations take hold, sailing strings tethered by a terse snare as SES2 is brought to a triumphal close.
