In an investigatory arena of sound replete with layers of vibration and texture, where subtleties coalesce with severity, where form and function create a purposeful structure and give pleasure to the senses, is where we find Hjem podcast’s eleventh artist, Montreal local, Le Binch. From his 2008 beginnings in mixing and track collecting to a recent and uncompromising enthusiasm in production, Le Binch’s style has evolved into a multidimensional expertise in musical adventure. Inspired by artists in like-minded enterprise such as Pan-Pot, Hans Bouffmyhre, Rødhåd, Yan Cook and Vinicious Honorio, Le Binch offers divergent and imaginative charms to feed the cognitive appetite that is essential to the purist Techno audience. In marathon fashion, Le Binch selects tracks that unite cheeky and eccentric explorations with hypnotic protraction, inclusive of a range of subgenre influences such as electro-industrial, German new-wave and groovy EBM. Apart from these attributes, Le Binch holds a rare gift for break arrangements, composing experimental and alluring intermissions that keep the audience committed. In addition to this, listeners can expect universal themes of community, empowerment, accountability, open-mindedness, and reflection in his vocal track selections. An evident suggestion to participate in the Techno community as a whole. Currently focusing on individuality and identity in track production, Le Binch endeavors to release tracks that align with the vast Techno spectrum that he enjoys playing. Alex Dolby has reached the coveted ground of over 15 years of releasing music and seen his high pedigree of creations landing on labels ranging from Global Underground, John Digweed’s Bedrock, to more recently Emmanuel’s ARTS, Developer’s Modularz and DJ Emerson’s Micro.fon amongst others.

Development and experimentation are the main influences in his sound as Alex has firmly settled on creating expressive techno. A deep love for analogue sounds, rough textures and tough rhythms are accompanied by dystopian aesthetics. A clear focus on functional club weaponry is wrapped up in his productions to pay homage to the dance floors he draws so much inspiration from.

Diversifying his legacy as a music connaisseur, Alex launched the respected Affekt Recordings in 2012 that has a catalogue of music from the likes of Pär Grindvik, Alex Bau, Mental Resonance, VSK, and MTD for example as he continues to enterprise and enlist new talent apace with established artists.

This label project also culminated in the emergence of Affekt Club that situated in his Italian home town of Frosinone, is a reflection of the labels output that inspires the clubs ethos of underground culture and musical standards.

Alex’s contemporary fourth studio album in 2018 “Fault System” has reinforced his noteriety as a leading light and much loved creative. Picking up heavyweight support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chris Liebing, Charlotte de Witte, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Sims, Jonas Kopp, Ø [Phase], Dax J, Truncate and Etapp Kyle to name only a few.

Added to this, one of his hit records from the 2006 album of the same name “Psiko Garden” recently received a remix in the first entry of the Classic Reworks vinyl series for Affekt from the unrelenting Manchester duo AnD (Electric Deluxe/CLR), bringing a much loved nostalgic gem into new territory.

The successes Alex has achieved have allowed him to travel around the world to play revered locations such as DC10 (Ibiza), Extrema Festival (Belgium), Bonusz Festival (Hungary), Griessmuhle (Berlin), Sazae (Osaka), Branceleone (Rome) or Cafè D’Anvers (Belgium) where he has shared his passionate and ardent sounds as he maintains an imperative grasp on the hearts and minds through the affirmation of his cherished contributions.

With a broad musical background, from electronic music and 90’s techno, to 20 years of being a drummer and later guitarist and song writer in underground bands, Dvrandal experienced a techno reawakening at Tresor, Berlin. He always strives to create outer worldly experiences, taking the crowd on a harrowing journey, deep into the unknown.

The performances are based on rhythmic and tonal elements shaped by the mood and situation. The energy of this music is designed to engage listeners in a spiral or tunnel of repeating, merging and shape shifting patterns. Moods range from minimal, melodic, uplifting, dark and industrial.
