Coffee Burner

Tune number 3 for the weekly series in 2024.

I had been messing around with the funky drummer break for some time. On the 2nd of this year I finished up this tune. Today I did a bit of tweaking and this is the finished tune. It's a bass heavy breakbeat workout... not too different from the other 2 tunes I dropped so far this year. Enjoy :)

140 Madison

That feeling of dread when you realise the bassline hasn't even dropped yet... I have no idea what genre to put this in so I made one up. :D Should mix into any Funky/House/Electro/Dubstep/Techno set with a fair amount of ease... and spice things up a bit.

First tune for February, 6th tune of the year for #tuneaweek2024. 

Shout out to Thief for the sounds of banging on a window, rattling a bead curtain and playing his wind chimes. Lol. Recorded in Dunedin, late 2021.

Also shout out to Tamper, originally the other half of Faction, for some critical feedback on this one. He's busy with his own career and family but he's taken time out to lend his perfectionist ear which is hugely appreciated. I think it shows in the quality of this tune.

It's another oddball, a 160bpm track that has somewhat of a UK Garage type bounce to it, and the snares being where they are mean it's technically 40bpm... fight me. haha. Enjoy!

Keep It Down

Week 7, tune 7. It's been a stressful couple of weeks, so here I'm kind of cheating... I just don't have time to make a whole tune this week. I wrote this in 2021. But I didn't put it up anywhere, I just gave it to a few people, it was played on a radio show on SWU by none other than Rob Smith RSD. 

This goes quite well as a soundtrack to a show I'm watching at the moment named Steiner's Gate that involves time travel and worldlines...

Here it is spruced up, louder, tweaked in a bunch of ways, ended up spending about 3 hours on it that I don't have. Lol. Makes for a much improved tune for your benefit! Enjoy loud.

Happy leapday. Week 9, track 9 for #tuneaweek 2024. Was fascinated with the kindly but passionately delivered environmentalist words of one Balin Hobbs in this clip. So I added loads of effects to it and built a track around it. It's weird and spooky. Enjoy loud.

what sort of culture

Week 10, tune 10. #tuneaweek2024. UK Garage with breakbeats. It's a thing I've been hearing a bit over the past couple years... SP:MC, Bakey, Dawn Razor, Mod Sens, Sinic, local NZ artists such as Oliver Prince have been making tracks in this vein. Here's another one of mine (see also 136 Runner)...

Originally written mid 2022 when we were coming out of lockdowns and such, refined and mixed down hard here. Its just a jiggy little number. Enjoy loud.
