Chaos Island: Act 1

Hello, voidlings. It took a bit of more time than usual, but I finally composed another original song. Thematically, this is sort of a parallel song to "The Girl with Silverine Eyes", but featuring a different character perspective (Lore Side Note: Contrary to what it may seem like, "Elle" is not actually the girl with silverine eyes). This song is sort of a mix of the usual post-rock style I make, but with hints of metalcore, and some orchestral instruments. Heavily inspired by the band Maybeshewill, so I suppose this is sort of an homage of sorts.

As you can see, this is also the first song featuring my original artwork. Can you guess the character?

Moving foward, all my songs will feature both my original music as well as original artwork, or an IRL live recording/guitar playthrough. This means my release schedule will be a bit slower since I also have to draw the art now too, if not record myself playing a specific guitar part. Also, some videos will have some nerdy lore drop portion, like below.

The GIrl with Obsidian Eyes

Beginnings is a composition by Mitch Mitchell (1946–2008), the legendary drummer of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and stands as one of the most significant instrumental works from the final phase of Hendrix’s artistic journey.

Recorded in 1969 at Record Plant Studios in New York, Beginnings was born during a period of extraordinary creative freedom, when Hendrix was moving beyond the traditional boundaries of rock music toward a language increasingly influenced by modern jazz, modal structures, and open improvisation.

Built on circular rhythmic cells and a continuous dialogue between drums and guitar, the piece places Mitch Mitchell’s musical vision at its core: the drums are no longer a supporting role, but the structural and narrative engine of the music.
Hendrix’s guitar moves freely and fragmentarily, exploring textures and ideas that anticipate many of the future developments of progressive rock and fusion.

The original recording features:

Jimi Hendrix (1942–1970) – guitar

Mitch Mitchell (1946–2008) – drums

Billy Cox (1941) – bass

The track was released posthumously on War Heroes (1972) and later included in First Rays of the New Rising Sun, becoming a key document of Hendrix’s late creative period.

In this version, Maurizio Oddone revisits Beginnings within the project
Transfigured Rays – The New Rising Sun Session, not as a conventional cover, but as a conscious transfiguration of the original material.
The arrangement preserves the improvisational spirit of the piece, highlights its rhythmic architecture, and places it within a broader concert-oriented and narrative framework, where historical memory is transformed into a contemporary musical language
