this is our version of The Little Drummer Boy- a blend of traditional, and whatever you call the music we do. :-)  this track features both Christina and Jeremy on vocals, and since it's the "studio version" we put a few more tracks in there to land it between Curve and the church choir. :-D We hope you like it, and play it loud and often for the next few weeks! :-)

this is track 8 from our album "broken down, breaking down", the original version was an acoustic guitar anc vocal track akin to Hayden, but after listening to too much Built To Spill,Neil Young, and Red House Painters, it became this. :-) of course, people just tell us it sounds like The Cure. this is an ambient song i did a while ago and haven't put up yet... i was thinking of rain at night, but the sky still lit by the moon, light rain upon the windows that you watch as it makes little trails down its surface... 

i like putting this on some late night playlists along with some Michael Brook and ambient Aphex Twin, and other nice stuff. :-)

(http://youtu.be/kq0x-aS1H9E)  this is an ambient instrumental song I did with my 4-track a long time ago, thought I'd put it up with some video we shot here and there. :-) for the curious out there, this song was recorded with two guitars (running thru an Alesis quadraverb for lots of delay, and my Peavey 112 amp), an alesis sr-16 drum machine and some background ENSONIQ ESQ-1 keyboard parts. since it was so inspired by the works of Michael Brook, i suggest you check his stuff out too!

was coming home from work on Valentine's day, thinking of roses, how the petals spin around and around each other... and music popped into my head. by the time I'd gotten home I had a few solid parts down, and quickly recorded this in the couple hours I had before my wife Christina got home. a rose, made of music...   so, this song started off that way, but it just started going where it wanted to go... enjoy the trip!                             -----------------   for Christina. :-)
**update: after hearing it, she liked it so much she wanted to make it one of our songs we play, so we added vocals and changed a few parts... the song, Rose II will be on our next album. ;-)

rose i (instrumental) - faded SF

this is an old instrumental from back in 1992 that I did when making music under the moniker of Retrovirus, a sometimes industrial band I had with Darren Thompson and Ryan Coseboom. half the time we were being inspired by FLA, or NIN, half the time we were making music like the Cocteau Twins, Curve, or Jesus Jones... kind of all over the place. later we became Anomie (with Rebecca Chenitz and Brent Christian). This song though was just me programming synths and finding movie samples, which Darren and I played on an Amiga computer and mixed it all down live. these days I'd be able to hone the samples better, and make them more easy to understand. such primitive technology! anyways, have to give props to Intermix and Delerium, and the song 19 among others for influences. :-) the line Ignorance is Fatal comes from the story Usher II, where the protagonist does away with censors seeking to ban Poe and others. this is also where the line "say it! say it! ...For the Love of God (montressor!) Yes for the Love of God.  enjoy!

an upbeat track about going thru the good times and the bad with someone no matter what happens... :-)
i'd say it sounds something like the Cure hanging out with Chapterhouse and slowdive, but who knows if that makes any sense...?

ascend- faded SF

faded sf is the music of Jeremy and Christina True, husband and wife duo, making noise together for over 15 years. While the band was formed in SF,  they've moved back to Santa Cruz to continue the work. They don't play one specific genre of music, they like too many different things to do that! faded SF fit into the broad pre-90s definition of alternative, which encompassed electronic music, ambient guitar music, gothic rock, post-punk, shoegaze, industrial and what-have-you. however, that does mean listening to one track will NOT give you an idea of what they do! hope you enjoy what you hear, and don't forget to check out their other pages as well to hear different tracks than the ones included here so far. always a work in progress.... ;-)
