Intricate shuffling drums, smooth shining synths, gentle arpeggiators, delicate chimes and warming basslines are just some of the ingredients that make up Sau Poler's sound. Fresh off the back of dropping his self-released Paradoxes Of Progress EP, we tuck into this exclusive mix from the man himself. Embark on a journey and get lost in 54 minutes of grooves.

"During the past months, I've been very fascinated listening to a bunch of underground producers, that kind of "lo-fi tape experimental house" sound, very well defined by labels like Opal Tapes, L.I.E.S, The Trilogy Tapes, Going Good, Latency, etc... Inspired in that way, I build the mixtape trying to oscillate into various genres and keeping that hypnotical feel. From that disco infected house tracks of Jack J and Andres remix, to the blurry minimalesque flavor of Vester Koza or Cloudface, through the Fleetwood Mac's classic edit by Mau. Closing with two beautiful pieces, the ambient passage from MIUAX and the night dreamer "Blackmoon" from the french producer Scan X, a song that touched deeply my adolescence and I've listened for ages and ages."

Aroop Roy is a UK artist and producer, who's music blends together the organic elements of jazz, afro, latin and funk with the deeper edge of house and disco. His productions have been supported worldwide by numerous tastemakers and DJs including Gilles Peterson, Atjazz, Karizma, Soul Clap, Jimpster, Dj Spinna and Rainer Trueby.

Aroop has released music on a variety of labels including Freestyle, Gamm, Basic Fingers and House of Disco. His recentTalkin Bout Life (HOD) and Kampana Classics EPs have been hugely successfully with vinyl selling out and digital EPs topping the charts.

From tropical parties and jazz nights, to house and techno clubs, Aroop has DJ'd in 5 continents and had residencies in London, Geneva and Tokyo, where he played an important part in the underground scene with hugely popular and innovative club nights absolute!!, Exposure and Culture.

Other highlights include his highly acclaimed compilation CD absolute!! Sounds From Tokyo, and an invitation to do a guest mix on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide radio show. He was also selected for the Red Bull Music Academy in Melbourne.

@jimeno has marked his style for over a decade. since he was a teen, music has been the main protaganosist in his creative life, leading him to collect rare house beats, vintage records & groovy sensations.
He recently played the bachstelzen stage at Fusion festival, Germany and Minimüzikhol in Istanbul. He has played along with greats like global MUTEK curator Vincent Lemiux, Isolee, Lil Tony, Lawrence, Baikal, Oskar Offerman, Dorisburg and Axel Boman to name a few.
He is currently enjoying his residence at Papaya Playa Project, and focusing on producing his own material which he will be releasing soon as he prepares to follow his nomadic footsteps and explore abroad.
