For opening "Meh Liebii" @ Variété in February 2023 and to adjust the mood for what was to come after their opening slot, Atom:a:Raah (aka Atonom & Meta:Raah) went for a special journey to see what kinda sounds they could pull out of their sleeves and throw at eachother in a classic b2b starting from their usual 108bpm and aiming towards Solvanes tempo and style.

And even confronted with quite some technichal difficulties and while exploring an all new musical field for playing together, they were never lacking an answer to the track before, prooving that they just vibe great together whatever the situation - and by pushing each others boundaries they found a way to combine different tunes, styles and artists which you usually don't hear together in one set.

All in all you will hear some killer tracks with some bumpy transissions here and there but well... it was one hell of a bumpy ride through a completely new terrain so let's just buckle up, turn up the volume and dive straight into this wild ride, as the recording skips the first hour of the set and starts right at the very moment they took the turn towards the unknown....

This is a re-recording of Atonom's Closing Set at The Big Pisces Birthday Bash, March 2023 @ Variété..

It might not be the best example for a consistent track choice, but it somehow still became a moody last nautical expedition. 
A combination of tracks I really wanted to play, different sounds of the ocean and the aim to catch the flow and vibe of the people on the dancefloor, to keep the underwater party going while slowly steering the submarine back into the harbour.

A kinda cheesy Atonom set, played at Nowhere 2023 on the Faffing Horses haycart at a spontanious Friday Sunset Party on our own little backyard playa between Not Swiss Camp and the Hippy Hill, next to the "Faffadilly Circus" Underground Station.

The focus was clearly on just to make as many people as happy as possible with picking the songs that underline the progress of the dusty sunset, always adapting to the position of the sun, the colours in the sky & mood of the crowd and to just be in the moment. 
So although not the smoothest set, it surely is one with a lot of heart and soul.

Normally wouldn’t have uploaded this because of some wobbly and edgy mixing here and there, and tracks that sometimes don’t really match (and many are already in other Atonom sets). And as said before: I just went with the mood of the moment and didn't care about the recording. 
But because many of you asked me about it, and I recieved so much wonderful feedback while playing it, it is now here (in a slightly edited version) for you to relive that really epic nightfall...

Atonom (Hartz IV) is a side-project by Atonom, containing carefully selected Bass-, Progressive- & G-House tracks, that work damn well when pitched down.
Way down. All the way down to around 102-105bpm. 
Making these tracks bouncy as fuck, without loosing their original power, and maybe even enhancing their kickass force by giving them some space to breathe. 
Atonom meets Slippery When Wet. Kinda.
Straightforward Hartz IV Techno. 
Slow, Raw & Dirty. 

So far I only played this specific style at spontanious gigs every once in a while, but now I finally managed to record a good example of what Atonom (Hartz IV) stands for.
Focusing mainly on my early collection of Bass- & G-House tracks "The Next Level" became a suitable opener for the Hartz IV series, perfectly curated by Brassic's Farmer Jim.

Die ALTE KOMMODE (aka ATONOM & PÈRE CUSHION) und BEEFHARP haben im November 2023 ein Ausflügli nach Richterswil gemacht, um im Rahmen der als UNESCO Kulturerbe registrierten "Räbenchilbi"  in einem traditionsbehafteten Chäller ein Ständchen zu spielen. 

Ganz nach dem Motto  "Eifach Bangers ballere und nacher dummi Sprüch mache" wurde in klassischer b2b2b Manier spontan gepickt, gemixt, gespielt, genossen und gehörig Dampf gemacht.

Musikalischer Rundlauf mit USB Sticks. Oder so in der Art.

Und da alle drei mit ihren individuellen DJ Projekten des öfteren auch mal etwas langsamer unterwegs sind, sei erwähnt: Wo "Alte Kommode" drauf steht, ist ganz klar "Brockenhouse" drin. 

Und auch beefharp hat gezeigt, dass da auf seinem Datenträger sehr wohl auch ein paar Stücke schlummern, die gerne ein wenig zügiger gespielt werden können. 

Entstanden ist ein Set, welches ziemlich gut auf den Punkt bringt, was denn Brockenhouse eigentlich ist und nun, nach einer stimmungsvollen Nacht, auch in den Alltag Einzug halten darf.

+++ BROCKENHOUSE +++

Brockenhouse bewegt sich mit rund 124-127pbm irgendwo zwischen Tech-House, Progressive und Techno. Irgendwo zwischen monotonem Beat, epischen Fanfaren, groovigen Basslines, kitschigen Synths und verspicktem Geknartze.
Von alten Klassikern über sorgfälltig ausgessuchte Pop Edits bis zu noch nie gehörten Geheimtipps - es wird sorgfältig selektioniert, spontan präsentiert, theatralisch inszeniert, mutig balanciert, gewagt jongliert, gegenseitig inspiriert und die ganze Sauce auch noch mit Text- & Sound-Snippets garniert, sodass dann sicher die ganze Hütte vibriert.

Oder wenn man Chlüppliheiri zitiert: "Ich bi scho gspannt was als nöschsts chunnt" - denn Brockenhouse ist bewusst ein bisschen übermütiger und vielseitiger als die 0815 Club Mukke.

Ein bisschen persönlicher als der Grossverteiler, vielleicht nicht so sauber und geschliffen zwar, aber dafür mit Charakter, vielseitigem & wechselndem Angebot und versteckten Trouvaillen.

A warm & pushing set in typical Atonom diversity, containing some new discoveries and many of my all time favourites. As always with the ususal unusual mixing and unexpected track-combination balanced on the thin red line between womb and grave and curated with loads of love & passion.

I think this is the Atonom Groove I enjoy playing the most at the moment.
My set at lush.play (& Börning Beiz) on 10.2.24 was a variation of this playlist f.e.

Soetimes weird, sometimes bouncy, sometimes trippy, sometimes fresh, sometimes suprising, sometimes classy, sometimes high, sometimes grounding, sometimes playful, sometimes serious, sometime this, and sometimes that, and sometimes something else... Welcome inside my head...

Always with a powerfull bass to keep us grooving while we fight the battle inside our meat-overall with some nasty kicks and stylish pirouetts. Somewhere between our heart, brain and soul lies the truth. Maybe. But it's surely worth to have a look.

Nach den individuellen Kauz Premieren war die Freude gross nun auch gemeinsam mal die Ehre zu haben im Kauz ein paar Klänge durch die Boxen zu jagen - und in klassischer Atom:a:Raah manier sogar ganze vier Stunden.

So wurden am 17.5.2024 die Pferde gesattelt und mit 108-114bpm durch die Baustelle geritten, as ususal mit spontaner Trackwahl und nonverbaler Kommunikation mit des Tanzparketts lachenden Gesichtern und tanzenden Beinen.

Wenn Atonom & Meta:Raah zusammen selektionieren entstehen keine Sets sondern Reisen - und diese sind meist nicht kürzer als 4 Stunden.

3 Jahre später ergab sich dann die Möglichkeit dies zu wiederholen. 
Selber Ort. Neue Tracks. Und sogar noch eine Stunde länger als beim letzten Mal.

Et Voilà....

Biberig in Bibern Vol. 2 -  ein gelungenes, 8-stündiges Atom:a:Raah b2b Set für alle die sich darauf einlassen wollen - und dies lohnt sich alleweil.

Zum aktiven Hören, als Reisebegleitung, zum Tanzen oder auch einfach irgendwo im Hintergrund.  
 
Ein knackiger und trotz langer Dauer sehr kurzweiliger Ausflug. Abwechslungsreich & vielseitig aber doch mit rotem Faden. 
Wohl irgendwo im Bereich rund um Midtempo oder so anzusiedeln, wenn denn überhaupt schubladisiert werden muss....

Neuaufbau by Atonom contains almost the same tracklist as played as an opening set at Kauz on 26.12.25.  It's a  2h20min Downtempo journey on 100 bpm through celestial spheres without loosing the bouncy bass that keeps the steam train running.

A teardown, rebuild , and a new beginning of whatever's left to come.

I played this set once at Borderland 2016 and again on the 1st October 2016 at the Extraordinarium Vol. 2 @ Klaus in slightly different and longer versions. Both times I didn't record it properly, so I played a third version of it at a lovely birthday bash in Minweich. A bit shorter with only the tracks I played on both occations before. I hope it brings back some memories.
