Originally from a small northern suburb of Chicago, Fahri was started by husband and wife duo, Sarah Long and Miles Murray. Shortly after, the band was picked up by KY label, Ionik Recordings, who released a self titled, electronic EP for Fahri.
After the release of their EP with Ionik, Miles and Sarah relocated to Milwaukee, WI where they were welcomed into a thriving indie music scene. Fahri has since been featured on WMSE radio, toured nationally, and played many shows and festivals in the Midwest region.

Fahri's music has been called sonic, fuzz pop. Their sound gives nods to 90's indie rock, 80's post-punk, modern pop and has been compared to the likes of No Age, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo and My Bloody Valentine.

In 2010 "Perfect Present" was Fahri's first full length released on Ionik.  "Final Disconnect Notice"  released June 2012 on Seismic Chasm Records
