We’re excited about the new life being breathed into the IPaintMyMind Audio Series, as we move into new sonic spaces with new collaborators. We’ve been in touch with Falcon Punch for a while and are so glad to make this happen. Simply put, this dude’s palette is solid. “This mix took absolutely forever to put together. Mostly because I wanted to wait until I felt as though I had compiled enough material in this genre to put together a mix that felt fluid and completely encompassing of this period of disco and funk. After a long search I finally put together a long list of tracks and began weeding out the ones that didn’t quite fit into this mix, until I came out with the tracklist you see here. It’s soulful, funky, and both happy and melancholy at times. As electronic music is starting to draw on these genres more than ever, the mix feels fairly current while also not having a single song in it whose original content was made within the last 20-30 years.
