July '16 Mix

Strata is the first track from the second STUFF. album, titled 'old dreams new planets'. It features the quintet at their finest. Hybrid drums and nervous synths fighting over who can claim the deep basses. It makes you doubt whether you're at a rave or at a fusion jazz concert in some late 80's basement. The song really opens up just before halfway, when everything blends together and takes an unexpected melodic turn. The music seems to want to leave the uncanny valley of half-human sounds, but the trip continues in a strange but fascinating concrete jungle. It never lets you get rid of the sense that it could all come to a grinding halt with every heartbeat. It's a song that wears off your repeat button, but you wont mind a bit. CANDY 
'Candy' is de nieuwe ep van Falling Man. De plaat toont aan dat de groep uit Gent in de achttien maanden na het goed onthaalde album 'Ghost' (3,5 sterren in Humo) niet stil heeft gezeten. Falling Man trad veel op en producer Rodrigo Fuentealba Palavicino, van Manngold en Fifty Foot Combo, blijft op "Candy" dicht bij de rauwe live-sound van de band.  Titeltrack "Candy" hypnotiseert,  "Panick Attack no. 22"  is een soort van vuile rockabilly met een Motown-beat en "B&D" danst op een oer-riff. Het punky "Angry Kid" vertrekt van een paar regels tekst en een pianolijn van Stella Van De Velde, de tienjarige dochter van gitarist Polie Van De Velde.
