Fanontale is an AU that takes inspiration from Undertale fanon perceptions by using it to influence the roles the beloved characters take, as well as manifesting in-universe, affecting the characters and their stories.
This is not an Undertale AU about "What if Undertale fanon was good", but rather one that seeks to answer the question of "what if fanon perceptions had direct consequences for the lives these characters live?"

Frisk takes Toriel's role. After finally coming to their senses, Frisk is mortified with how they've acted, taking their issues out on Chara. But despite their own feelings about the situation, Chara continues to show them compassion and forgiveness, knowing that whatever had caused them to act like this must not have been an easy burden to carry.

This replaces the version of Fallen Down which plays after sparing Toriel, and therefore plays when Chara finally manages to get through to Frisk, and gets them to come back to their senses.
