Park Shadow is the project of Finnish producer Joonas Lehtinen, a figure whose roots stretch back to the late '90s tracker era. A very personal vision of drum and bass, this project reflects a balance between natural formlessness and urban grit.

With previous releases across the scene, Park Shadow arrives on Metalheadz with the 'Altitudez EP'. Goldie's interest in the title track set the course for an EP that draws on the roots of jungle and drum & bass while exploring its outer edges.

Across its four tracks, the EP unfolds as a journey - beginning in foggy melancholy, shifting into bittersweet, rave-charged energy, rising toward brighter, more uplifting tones and closing with an almost dreamlike sense of release. Breakbeat-heavy throughout, the 'Altitudez EP' is a release that carries the spirit of jungle into new terrain.

This is the fourth FatGyver release so far. All these works are my testament to what hip hop is to me. It all leans towards nineties US east coast vibes, but I'm adding my own spice to it. I guess you don't hip hop out of Finland every day!
I've always loved sample-based music, and to me, hip hop has always been about working with samples.
And samplers. On this album, you'll hear the SP 1200, MPC 60, as well as various other devices.

This is a beat tape (or a record!) that I'm very proud of and think it does make its own small statement in today's hip hop world.
