Story
The Last Letter, "Whispers in the Rain"
In an old neighborhood of Seoul, where the streetlights flickered as if remembering something, lived a young woman named Hyejin. Every night, on her way home from work, she passed by an abandoned house with its windows sealed and its gate covered in ivy. It was said that a Gwisin lived there, a wandering spirit who hadn't been able to close his story.
One rainy night, Hyejin found a letter in her mailbox with no return address. The ink was smudged, but it was still readable: "I couldn't tell him I loved him. Help me." Intrigued, she followed the clues the letter suggested and discovered that, decades before, a young woman named Suna had died in that house, waiting for a love who never returned from the war.
Hyejin, driven by a force she didn't understand, searched for the soldier's descendant. When she finally found him and handed him the letter, the air seemed to lighten. That night, as she passed by the house, the ivy had withered and the windows were open. On the threshold, a figure dressed in white smiled before vanishing in the wind.
From then on, no one spoke of the Gwisin again. But Hyejin knew that sometimes, ghosts just need someone to hear their last word.
