Selfishness: The Only Unselfishness - Osho

"Love is the most selfish thing in the world. Love is basically love of oneself. If you love yourself, only then can you love somebody else. If you don't love yourself, to love anybody else is almost impossible. The quality of love has to grow within you, only then can the fragrance reach to somebody else. If you don't love yourself you can only pretend that you love others. Your love will be pseudo, false, a deception. In ninety-nine cases out of a hundred this is what is happening – because humanity has been debarred, conditioned. Every child has been conditioned not to love himself but to love others. That is impossible. That cannot happen; that is not the way things are."

What we offer one another as human beings is an environment. And in spending so much time in relationships, it only makes sense that we try to use them as a vehicle for awakening. But what does it mean to be a safe space for another human being, to not have an agenda in sharing time with each other? This process requires a shift in the way we view our relationships, and the function they serve in our lives. In looking through the lens of separateness we see relationships as a means to fulfill desires, reinforce identities, and defend the personalities we’ve worked so hard to maintain. In extricating ourselves from these desire systems we free the mind and body to be open to the appropriate response within any dynamic. We offer ourselves as needed but avoid getting caught up in the giving and receiving. We learn to honor and delight in the beauty of the intellect without being caught or attempting to trap others. Dr. Wayne Dyer - Live flowing with the Tao Te Ching mashed up with B A L M O R H E A, a minimalist instrumental ensemble.  Influenced by Ludovico Einaudi, The Six Parts Seven, Claude Debussy, Ludwig van Beethoven, Rachel's, Gillian Welch, Max , Arvo Pärt and John Cage.

Dyer worked as a high school guidance counselor in Detroit and as a professor of counselor education at St. John's University in New York City.[1] He pursued an academic career, published in journals and established a private therapy practice. His lectures at St. John's, which focused on positive thinking and motivational speaking techniques, attracted many students. A literary agent persuaded Dyer to document his theories in his first book called Your Erroneous Zones. Dyer quit his teaching job and began a publicity tour of the United States of America, doggedly pursuing bookstore appearances and media interviews ("out of the back of his station wagon", according to Michael Korda, making the best-seller lists "before book publishers even noticed what was happening", which eventually led to national television talk show appearances including Merv Griffin, The Tonight Show, and Phil Donahue.
