Iraqi poet Hassan Abdulrazzak collaborates for a live recording, for Welcome to Iraq at the South London Gallery London 2014.

A recording of an Arabic restaurant before and during the time of Iftar, overlaid with a processed version of Welcome Ramadan, which some believe was sung by Michael Jackson. The azan (call to prayer) was played out in the restaurant, as captured here.

'Systems for a Score' was produced during the eponymous solo exhibition by Fari Bradley and Chris Weaver during their artist's residency at Tashkeel, Dubai, UAE from Jan 7th 2015.

This track was recorded in 'A Model Studio', an installation - central to the exhibition - of a bespoke recording studio on public view inside the art gallery, with Emirati singer Jumairy. It evokes the walks taken at night due to extreme summer heat, in the residential parts of Dubai where buildings are just two stories high, and the streets often deserted.

For these sessions, UAE-based musicians, artists and school children improvised, interpreting traditional Emirati weave (Al Sadu) as graphic scores.

Inspired by photographs of the banlieue (outskirts) of Dubai city, where warehouses and rooms are slowly giving themselves back to nature.  

Frozen Moments of Decay

A non-invasive rework of this Saudi comedians' & music producers' track, addressing the working class of Pakistanis lot versus issues of upper class agression and state-entrenched entitlement in Saudi. Dressed as Pakistanis for the video, the group titled the track "Sponsor", which is what the Saudi emplyer is to a Pakistani, and thus his visa in the balance - they go on to sing "I'm not afraid of the sponsor!"

Halim El Dabh "I Looked At Sound..."

Tracing the Chora is a soundwalk through the interstices of Al Quoz conceived of and created by sound artists Fari Bradley and Chris Weaver. 

The chora is a space through which to decipher the reality of our surroundings. The walk observes Al Quoz's vastly different terrains through the eyes of those who have worked in the area for years. Narration and sound direct listeners on a one-hour journey that dissolves our experience of a boundary between the Avenue and its neighbourhood. The chora is a space of potentiality that promises more to come, and is traced here by the voices and sounds of a neighbourhood, markers of life amidst industry.

The commission is an Al Serkal programming commission.

Made during Trump's horrifying rise to political success, 'We Will Do Without Gum' is about the determination with which we tried to avoid US influence in UK culture as teens. Yet still we were sucked in by certain things the media told us was cool...at what price.

We Will Do Without Gum

One of our six permanent audio works currently installed in the Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre, (Sharjah, UAE).

Composed of months of intimate wildlife recordings made in the deserts and rocky mountains of Sharjah, of critically endangered animals, native to the Emirates and the Gulf basin. For this piece an entire, skinned camel's head was given to the Arabian hyenas to enjoy in their outdoor pen. It was a struggle to keep hold of the head.

An Ear to the Wild - Arabian Hyena Sound Track

Featuring the voice of the now deceased Edward Bramah, director of the now closed Bramah Tea and Coffee Museum, London Bridge. He mentions the importance of sitting down for a cup of tea, as it leads to dialogue.
