These days I am swamp, I’m mountain and dale.
I’m deep, I’m steep, I’m dumb and deaf,
my word gets lost on me.
Landslide is, the year of power passed.
Screens of fog run through me
till blind and dark I touch the ground,
still resisting.

How may my shield break away
without pervading sun,
without meadows floating me green
and water that allays?
Who climbs free, once my vision has gone
and my strength has turned?
Where to tears me the war?

Scarce years at the bottom of breath -
I’m clouds, I’m abyss and sea.
Demons and angels rise
My light fades and glints
Years run through me
Caught in a circle I surround me
The world’s beauty mere sensing
Busy life far away.

Has the wall penetrated me,
leaning me bare against the cleft?
I’m falling not knowing the end.
But in the thick of it you cannot get out.
At times the world reaches hands to me,
at times a river flows through,
sometimes voices.
My inner eyes still weighty with tears.

You filled me full, life, glass from which I drink,
Now I’m the mountain that I ascend.
I’m the canyon into which I jump.
My own dance has changed and emptied me.
Silence yet.

Are you quiet, world?
Another door is opening, another view.
Accordance now
between soles and the ground,
Confine myself to one step, in which I’m whole.
And within me one wakes up,
whose dance is not exhausted yet,
but innocent and loud.

Here, this bird is mine and his tone am I.
I extend these wings, I paint him colourful.
I throw him the flight.
I raise him out of flames, out of calm waiting.

Behind the dark horizon there is the sun.
The sun-hour clears and the nightbark lands.
The silent sea sets me free
into a new measure of time.
My step has got other tracks.

These Days.    Collaboration With Augenmerk

The third studio release from The Goddamn Gallows, and a very notable one at that. You can see in these songs that The Goddamn Gallows were evolving steadily into something new! They still had a little of the psychobilly punk twang, but there was a little more to it than just that. This album was originally self released by the band in 2008, and was re-released on Farmageddon Records in 2011 on limited edition vinyl, and has since been repressed. The remaining vinyl copies can be found, along with CD's at www.farmageddonrecords.bigcartel.com

In an age where record labels are folding up right and left, one after another on a daily basis, Farmageddon Records was born. It started in 2009 when three good friends unknowingly would be recording the first album in the Farmageddon Records catalogue, Jayke Orvis "It's All Been Said" Darren D, owner of Farmageddon Records, and friend Johnny Lawless took a road trip to Pittsburgh to visit Jayke Orvis, after a night of hanging out, Darren approached Jayke about recording a solo album. At that point in time, Jayke had just parted ways with The .357 String Band, and had also joined forces with the Goddamn Gallows. Darren had faith in Jayke though, he knew that he was sitting on a pile of great songs that might have just wound up in a shoebox in a closet somewhere if something wasn't initiated.

Jayke was interested in the project and the idea of a solo album, but was concerned about how this was going to even happen, money and self esteem were low at that time. Darren and Johnny were sitting on a little bit of money, and chose to fund the recording of this album. A few phone calls were made to a few friends, and in a matter of two weeks Jayke Orvis was in Rebel Roots Studio in Richmond Virginia a few weeks later to begin the recording process. It took about 3 months to get all of the recordings done, and when it was done it wasn't the end of a recording, it was the birth of a new record label, Farmageddon Records.

Since then, the label has rapidly become popular among the Roots Music Underground, but has also started to leak into the mainstream a little, this music has soul, a lot more than what people are hearing on FM Radio these days, it's the real deal, real music. The great thing about the label is that it is more of a co-op than a label, people working together to make it happen, it is the most non-traditional record label in history, it's more of a family than anything, a real dysfunctional family, it's why people can relate to it so well. The label, by no means is getting rich, monetarily speaking, but it is rich in family and love, people fight like brother and sister.

Since it's conception, the roster has changed many times, but the core group is still there, and the label continues to grow, including the addition of the now annual Farmageddon Records Music Festival. The future is looking bright for the label, and all of the talent under it's umbrella, stay tuned!
