Tessen were folding fans with concealed outer spokes made of heavy iron plates. Some swordsmanship schools provided training of the tessen as a weapon. Besides using the razor-sharp spokes as an attacking tool, the tessen was also used as a throwing weapon, for fending off knives and darts and as a swimming aid. Samurai could also secretly take them to places where overt weapons were not allowed.

For its seventh release, Baud delves into deep techno territory, courtesy of Munich-based producer LaChriz. With previous releases on Dario and Marco Zenker’s Ilian Tape and on Woods ‘N Bass and Outelectronic Recordings, LaChriz has been honing his craft, producing straightforward techno music with an edge, an often sublimated dub techno influence and an ambient feel. 
His first E.P. for Baud features the voraciously clubby ‘Nothing Goes To Waste’, an undeniable dancefloor monster that starts swirling around itself with its hypnotic chords and a subtle melodic counterpoint. From thereon after, LaChriz takes a more introspective route, delivering three tracks that capture the melancholy and abstraction of the late night. Rhythmically trickier and melodically more layered, they give this record its balanced feel without detaching it from adventurous dancefloors. Baud 07 is a techno release at heart and as such has a classic techno edge. Its classy production and smart programming propel it into the future.

Shaw Cuts enters the site of crime with its first release called 'Have Sword, Will Travel'.
The EP includes 4 techno assassins - two tracks by the label founder himself LaChriz, who introduces his shaolin moniker 'Farron' and 2 remixes by the argentinian boxer Jonas Kopp.
'Equinox' opens the slaughter with shaking break-beat punches in combination with atmospheric pads surrounding the drum jabs. Ti Lung would have been pleased.
The track 'Apo-G' comes in sly and chases the enemy with dirty drums and menacing distorted sound spheres that will morph the bad guys into dead guys - throwing star style.
The B-side gets taken over all the way by Jonas Kopp, who brings up two different remixes of 'Equinox' that can easily cut off the rival's extremities like a sharp guillotine.
And the carnage just begun...

Farron continues the course of Shaw Cuts with his ‘Legend Of The Bat‘ EP, following in the footsteps of Chu Liu Hsiang: the journey to Bat Island.
The voyage begins with ‘C.I.T.G’, its relentless break-beat fundament combined with coarse synth lunacy to wipe out the first dark shapes - moonlit slaughter.
Joining forces with rivals, Chu Liu Hsiang is no longer alone as he advances on Bat Island. ‘Semi-Final Thoughts’ accompanies the newly-formed crew to the mysterious ground - a melody of warm synth and light churned by industrious oldschool drums. But who to trust?
The fleeting harmony ends when several combatants unveil their guise and true motives. Loyalties revealed, massacre ensues. ‘Unlimited Mind‘ pulsates, its bassline and sharp percussions decapitating those who dare to deceive.
’Derby’ epitomizes the tension of the final showdown with low rolling tones, echoing chords and heavy percussion weaving the air like the rival in pursuit. With teamed forces and clever combat the traitor is annihilated from head to toe - bloodbath and game over...

Having grown up as a skater in a small town close to Munich, Farron, real name Christoph, began to build his musical foundation upon hip hop, reggae, and punk from an early age. Electronic music did not have a significant role in his early years, however his curiosity started to grow when he first permeated the nearby clubs in Munich. Christoph found himself entering exciting new realms after enriching visits to local club Harry Klein. With the following years spent visiting various clubs around the nearby Bavarian capital, as well as a growing interest in a wide range of artists and labels, his first sound was shaped and helped him build a music direction. As his studio equipment expanded, and after clocking up countless hours In his studio, the German producer, known LaChriz at the time, saw the fruits of his labour land on various labels such as Woods ’N Bass Records, Out-ER, Baud Music and more notably on Ilian Tape.
With the producer’s pursuit of independence, came the desire to establish his own label. A place that serves as a musical platform for not only himself, but somewhere that likeminded artists can also be invited to express themselves fully. His label Shaw Cuts, founded in 2015, was a milestone for the artist and was also responsible for Farron, the artist’s latest and most fruitful solo alias. Since the label’s genesis, we have seen the artist and label go from strength to strength – both amassing a very credible catalogue! Along-side the announcement of his freshly created platform, Farron also managed to land more releases on Forbidden Planet, Renascence, XCPT and Subosc.
In 2021, Farron also released on Berlin’s genre-bending label Voitax, where the two entities have zeroed in on a very unique and promising relationship. In the same year, he released his debut album 'Shinrin Yoku' on Shaw Cuts. 
Besides his studio work, Farron is constantly shaping his liveset with a versatile, free-spirited and personal approach. 
And there is more to come.
