Six years after my first @cmykitsme self-published, non-dance music mix, here's volume 2!

This time coming to you as @kanvasfm, a DJ alias and web-radio project which has provided a large share of my musical inspiration the last few years, leading me to revisit and meticulously organize music I had accumulated over a lifetime, and researching the best ways to assemble truly genre-bending selections.

This recording is the non-dancey half of my opening set on the sunny Saturday afternoon during Le Chant des Oiseaux festival in June 2021, in the Cévennes natural park in France. People were slowly gathering, some chilling in the grass, others bopping their heads on what would soon become a dancefloor. For many of us, this festival represented the first time in over a year and a half we attended such event - a very cherished memory.

Hope you enjoy the selecta (despite a few dodgy transitions and some saturation issues) as much as I enjoyed this moment!

Episode 70! As you probably know, AIR is actually on hiatus from recording new episodes, and set to return in the new year 2025… However, this month and next month’s episodes are actually recordings of two interviews produced in collaboration with @DimensionsFestival. Both took place on site with a small audience, and it was an absolute treat to be able to participate in the festival in this unique way, the first time that Dimensions has hosted artist talks at their venue in Tisno.

First up, I’m chatting with a true legend of the scene, Tameko Williams also known as @DetroitinEffect. Instead of our usual focus on one topic, these on-site interviews act as artist profiles, delving into artistic history and personal milestones, exploring creativity, craft, and music. Cristian Salanta a.k.a. CRISSTIA is a known name amongst the circles and mostly for his serial appearances within Dinsubsol showcases. With the music letting speak for himself mostly, he has paved his way to many listeners with his silvery selections. 

The next two hours are crafted to engage on different altitudes. Crisstia’s technical approach towards mixing creates seamless experiences, with both broken beats and subtle arrangements. He’s selection involves a range of percussional structures that are present for the whole duration, annexing all the compositions to his techie and structured vision. Cristian gives us a large palette of sound to choose from, all compiled effortlessly into a dynamic harmony.
