Next up in the Audio Series we present: Minimal Violence

Minimal Violence is  Ash Luk (formerly Lida P.) They derive inspiration from early electronic and minimal synth works while integrating heavier UK rave and hardcore vibes.

From years of playing in punk bands, Luk’s penchant for the heavier and more aggressive side of dance music is most evident in its infiltration of the duo’s live set. The acid-tinged sets straddle the line between a relentless assault of the senses and jarring moments of disorienting chaos held together by oppressive kicks and scattered breakbeats.

Previously having released on labels such as Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour and Lobster Theremin, Minimal Violence has most recently launched into the second EP in their three-part series with Tresor Records.

Composed of High Future (@djhighfuture) and AN Yunbi (@anyunbi), CLITS duo was born on the stage in 2021. They drew to each other inevitably in understanding their different approaches about music. These two polar-opposites spurred themselves to moving forward together while exploring their own sonic allures in the middle. The duo’s omnivore selections meets in mixing Old School Techno with Trance, Jungle, Progressive and other high energy styles. Exuberant and pulsating is the sound captured in their sets and their lovely inner energy is sure to fill the dancefloor.

“In this mix, I tried to find a nice middle ground between my old style and what I’ve been into lately. I’ve been moving away from four-on-the-floor rhythms and moving more towards broken patterns, but I wanted to throw in some bass infused, atmospheric and dreamy techno to tie it all together. Overall, the idea behind this mix was to go for a more clubby sound - energetic, percussive and hypnotic, but with some unexpected turns.”

As the next guest on the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are excited to present: Mac Declos

Enrolled into the groove with a blues guitarist father and a singer/dancer mother, Mac bathes in the musical cosmos very young, dipped in a home of rhythm and choreography. He graduated in dance and pursued contemporary dance at the Centre Chorégraphique National of Roubaix. The versatile virtuoso also proved himself in hip hop dance battle but soon discovered the holy platines to practice his waltz. From hip hop to house music, there is one, two step : a controller has been bought, Mac Declos is born.

Eclectic, with an unpredictable hypersonic sound, intense yet precise, Mac Declos swings furiously between body and mental, hits high-paced without losing any groove: projected into a frenetic race, we are all invited to lose control during Mac’s kicky-bouncy techno sets.
Recently, Mac Declos dropped « Cuir en cage », his first 5-tracks EP on Myst. He also released his first 10-track LP on Mama Told Ya MTY-007 «Hard work always pays off».

"I recorded this podcast before New Year's Eve with a focus on exploring various genres, as I often do. The aim was to create a one-hour journey that reminds me of my last gigs or club experiences. Savor the journey."

Fast Forward Audio Series #95: Mac Declos

As the next guest on the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are excited to present: ENNIO

ENNIO is a Berlin-based artist with a South-East Asian and Slavic-Jewish background who has recently gained significant attention and popularity with the release of his EP titled »Scacotteter.« Prior to this, he self-released a collection of 19 ambient tracks, »Notes from the quarantine,« created during lockdown, and the Gabber- infused trap tune »Memory is inherent in Nature« via DJ Spit's Rascals. Moreover, he has contributed to TILT's first Various Artist compilation in December 2022. However, it is the track »Gunung Padang« from his latest EP that has truly propelled him to the forefront of the scene. With his just released single, »Don't Stop (Gimme More),« he continues to captivate the attention of leading artists and dominate dance floors worldwide.

In addition to being an integral part of TILT, ENNIO holds a residency at the popular queer event series Kinky Sundays, based at Hamburg's acclaimed PAL. 

About the mix: “Improvised, in solitude at home, pushing buttons. Some unreleased, some released things. Overall, I'm just exploring my sexuality here and hoping for a Capri Sun sponsorship!”

Fast Forward Audio Series #96: ENNIO

As the next guest on the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are presenting you with: HAO

HAO has established him as one of the most distinctive figures in China's contemporary club scene, possessing a duality of aquatic flow and rhythmic endurance.
Whether it's spearheading the iconic party label 'Seafood' — featured at Planeta Manas in Lisbon and 'WHOLE' Festival 2023 in Germany, or serving sass as half of the dynamic duo 'SiS B&C'
with fellow Berlin-via-Chengdu transplant Cora, HAO is shifting from strength to strength.
As demonstrated in his viral Boiler Room set, HAO is known for enrapturing crowds with his hard-hitting selections of techno, acid, breakbeat, electro, and trance, curating a distinct aesthetic that
transfixes dancefloors towards euphoric release.
Now based in Berlin and named by Mixmag in the "Top 24 Artists to Check Out in 2023", he brings his unique flavor to international audiences for the first time. Watch this space.

Fast Forward Audio Series #97: HAO

As the next guest on the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are presenting you with: Sabinē

 Sabinē is the leading figure of the new electronic music generation in Uzbekistan, as well as the co-founder of Sublimation Collective launched an audacious label, which seeks to push boundaries, produce collaborative tracks & give a voice to emerging artists. Today, she is a Riga based DJ, Label manager, producer and promoter, who served as a resident DJ at the One One club (Rīga).    

Sabinē was born in Uzbekistan, in industrial town Chirchik, and shares her love for a variety of evocative techno sounds ranging from industrial and acid thumping with the spirit of resistance. Her dirty kicks, fat rhythmics, raw percussions and pretty melodies are always the finest experience of electronic music.  

She performed at Stihia (former Aral Sea, UZ) and  Under (Riga, LV) festivals, as well as presented her set at Boiler Room, the renowned Berlin HÖR, legendary club Tresor, as well as different venues around Eurasia alongside Nina Kraviz, Dr. Rubinstein, Dasha Rush, Hector Oaks, Perc, Regal, Tommy Four Seven.

As the next guest on the Fast Forward Audio Series, we are presenting you with: CRB

 CRB is a French artist based in Budapest who’s been part of the global electronic music scene for 8 years.  Mastering transition between Oldschool techno, Trance, Hardgroove and Hardhouse, his sets have transcended boundaries and genres and led him to play in many international cities such as Berlin, Tbilissi, Istanbul, Paris, Madrid, Vienna and many more.

Over the years, he shared the stage with most of the main international Techno acts and played for some iconic party series such as Boiler Room, Synoid, Pornceptual or Rawmantique.

However, beyond his crowd-engaging melodies, CRB’s mission of diversity oscillates between his commitment to expose the hidden gems of electronic music in Budapest via EDR, and to bring to the forefront the aesthetics of queer culture through his residency at Kink Budapest and the Times New Romance collective.

As a DJ and artist, Berlin-based Hayden Payne, known predominantly by his Phase Fatale alias, has developed into one of the leading names taking EBM and post punk-informed industrial techno into raw and exciting territory the last five years. With his father involved in the music scene in the ’80s, his fascination with new wave and industrial bands stems way back, with him gravitating to more dance floor sounds as he was introduced to the Wierd parties on the Lower East Side of New York as a teen. This week sees him newly signed on by the Ostgut Booking agency, in a move that seemed all but confirmed with Payne’s now regular residencies at Berghain and the release of his debut outing on Ostgut with ‘Reverse Fall’ last year. Payne’s monolithic and immolating sound have always upheld well against the backdrop of Berghain, but he’s quick to stress that his work fits beyond just one side of the club, with his influences in synth wave, new beat, electro, and italo lending themselves to Laboratory and Snax too. 

We caught up with Payne to discuss his label BITE, telling us how him and his partner Florian had started the label with aims of operating beyond the borders of common preconceptions in techno. In the space of a year they’ve released debuts from Vulkaniski and REKA, a record from Teste, who celebrated their first record in 25 years, and a long-time-coming collaborative record between Payne and close friend Silent Servant. Falling by sheer coincidence on Truancy Volume 242, this serendipitous addition to our series has Payne digging through a lot of his current favourites, creating a sonic whirlpool of selections that pulls in electro, industrial, EBM and techno in a genre blurring manner. At an hour and forty minutes there's a substantial amount of music to get stuck into.

Fast Forward Productions was formed in December 2015 as a new take on DIY rave culture. All events are built from the ground up, focusing on our local scene and on collaborating with like-minded crews and concepts from abroad.
With a focus on social engagement, and by using activists from the local community to help make the events come to life, Fast Forward actively focus on creating safer spaces at the venues we use. Sexism, racism, homophobia and transphobia are not tolerated.

After the first year of activities, numerous collabs and the establishment of close relationships with like-minded crews all over Europe, we decided to establish ourselves as an agency working with some of the scene´s core members - both DJs and live acts. In doing this we work both as a traditional agency and as a promotional platform for each artist’s creative output.
