Using Ds' voice as a chorus' and added a hip hop flair to it using my favourite parts of the song, added some bottom and spit my lyrics, alluding to the racist perspective of so many in power, inspired by the Ferguson situation in the U.S".

MIDNIGHT MARAUDERS - LIVE IN MUNICH

We're delighted to premiere 'Razor' from New Zealand based seven-piece, Fat Freddy's Drop, taken from their forthcoming album, ‘BAYS’, out on October 23rd 2015.

Following the worldwide success of ‘Blackbird’ in 2013, the band are back with a 9-track LP recorded at the band’s BAYS Studio in Kilbirnie, Wellington a former 1950s HMV vinyl pressing plant. The lead single features the now signature sound of the band, beautifully melding reggae and jazz aesthetics with techno production.

Formed in 1999 in Wellington, New Zealand our sound draws inspiration from almost every part of the black music lexicon. Soul drenched vocals and jazz harmonies collide with tape delays and echo chambers, underpinned by a rhythm section as comfortable laying down a throbbing, techy soundscape as they are a swampy blues stomp.
