Brand new instrumental 'Bohannon Dub'. Hails from the lab of DJ Fitchie who, unbeknown to the bros, hit record while they were jamming in the lead up to a recording session. The title is inspired by Daniel Best's Berlin soulclub 'Bohannon' that he named in honour of American disco stomp musician, bandleader and producer, Hamilton Bohannon. We're delighted to premiere 'Razor' from New Zealand based seven-piece, Fat Freddy's Drop, taken from their forthcoming album, ‘BAYS’, out on October 23rd 2015.

Following the worldwide success of ‘Blackbird’ in 2013, the band are back with a 9-track LP recorded at the band’s BAYS Studio in Kilbirnie, Wellington a former 1950s HMV vinyl pressing plant. The lead single features the now signature sound of the band, beautifully melding reggae and jazz aesthetics with techno production.

Formed in 1999 in Wellington, New Zealand our sound draws inspiration from almost every part of the black music lexicon. Soul drenched vocals and jazz harmonies collide with tape delays and echo chambers, underpinned by a rhythm section as comfortable laying down a throbbing, techy soundscape as they are a swampy blues stomp.
