"The initial inspiration for the track was FFD being in the UK - I was a 90's raver traveling to (UK) venues like S.E.ONE, Brixton Academy & Sanctuary warehouse regularly. We drew inspiration from these memories of 'back in the day' to start with, then put our spin on things with a bit of analog synth and drum machine business to finish up" Dave from DiCE said. DiCE are a duo based in AKL and pack a solid musical pedigree. Christiaan aka Crispy Fresh has been at the cutting edge of NZ hop-hop, R&B and house since before the internet and was one half of House of Downtown. Dave sets the British mode. After moving to NZ from UK he's been dropping funk, disco and noughties references DJing at clubs across the city and various local radio airwaves. Chur bros!

Sonar 2017 was immense. In its 24th year and the music festival still remains the most respected worldwide for electronic and advanced music. I represented Radar Radio and had 1-2-1 chats with a few artists that performed.

Benji B spoke about the makings of legendary night Deviation and Gilles Peterson’s record collection; before Fat Freddy’s Drop took the main stage we discussed the New Zealand music scene and how online platforms are helping local artists break out; and lastly the boys from Soulection told me about their journey starting out doing student radio in LA to amassing a following of millions and hosting on Beats 1.

‘We’ll Be Fine’ is the latest single from CLICKS – the musical amalgamation of house music DJ/producer Dick Johnson and vocalist Anna Coddington. 

The single is built around the title’s vocal hook from Coddington and Mulholland, a high-hat heavy beat from Johnson, and a smooth bassline from LIPS. The track again showcasing the strengths of CLICKS – driving electronic beats with carefully-crafted lyrics and melodies.

A UK native, Johnson started out as a resident DJ at Manchester’s legendary nightclub The Hacienda, before turning his hand to studio production, creating tracks and remixes for a number of UK independent labels including Cream’s Olympic label, New Order’s Pleasure Recordings and Paper Recordings as well as releasing his own albums through Underwater and NRK. Combining with vocalist Coddington, CLICKS is their latest musical incarnation.
