This remix/rework was to accompany a short film by Jurome Duval and David Reeves Payne. Which was to commemorate the Firefighters who lost their lives in the fertiliser disaster in Dallas, back in the beginning of 2013. A complete different direction for me. It was meant as a soundscape, rather than a traditional song.

This is my first collaboration with Matt Buckley, or anyone. He asked me to remix one of his tracks (From Above). It was already a great instrumental track to start with. I had an acapella from another remix i started, but never finished. Which seemed to fit the tempo and the key. To listen to the original go to Matt's SoundCloud.

I remixed this track in 2014 for a MacPro Video remix competition. Which it came third. Because i felt i'd rushed the mixdown and mastering process (for the deadline) i decided to get it professionally mixed and mastered. The producer/mix engineer i chose was the legend that is Mick Glossop, who has mixed many an album (and won awards) for Van Morrison. Who then put me in touch with (also legend, mastering engineer) Tim Young at Metropolitan Mastering. The end result sounds a whole lot better.
