When we heard Hus Kingpin (co-starring Roc Marciano) "The Cognac Tape," we knew it needed an official Mello Music release.  Hus & MMG worked out the details and the official release was set for 9/17.  The tape is hosted by and features fellow Hempstead legend Roc Marciano along with Hus' Digicrates compadres Rozewood, Marvelous Mag, and Smoovth.  "Boss Material" was reworked by DJ Kryptonite on production.    The album also features production from The Snowgoons among others.  Hear the complete project snippets and pre-order at iTunes now. This is EXACTLY what hip-hop could use to pump some life into itself. These cats seem to take their craft seriously and compliment each other like they’ve been doing this for a while. You’re gonna finally find some use for that rewind button with this one.

Produced by German Producer and boom-bap leviathan Timeless Beatz, "The World Turns," is a coming of age track about a series of life-shortening events in inner-city America. Woven with religious commentary ("And they feel it praising his name, cause you're either in image praying or saved, or a sinner bathing in flames"), nostalgic glimpses of hip-hop being a soundtrack of youth ("I remember the cyphers and park benches, light-skin and dark bitches, and shooting dice and they start spitting, seen your bars written!") and being cognizant of a timetable that is very much happening ("...Time comes quick as it goes, but if you're waiting for this to happen, you're missing the show...) the narration is provided through watchful eyes and cautious understanding of how frivolous young life can be.
