Angels of the Mystic Path is a tribute to the three phases of the Total Solar Eclipse in Leo that took place August 1st, 2008. It is also the name astrologers and spiritualists gave this celestial occurrence, which they viewed as a universal “system reboot” meant to bring to fruition all past problems that have held everyone back from where they need to be, and realigning us with what truly matters to each of us as individuals.

This three CD set is comprised mostly of new releases from July, August & September of 2008, (Deep House, Tech House, Hard Tech) accented midway with a short revisit to older tracks, particularly early nineties classics.

Disc 1 of 3 is appropriately named “Fortuna” after “the bluebird of good luck and life-expanding creative abilities”, so called because of the eclipse’s peaceful blue appearance during its first phase.

This is a roughly 212 minute long mix of brand new releases from the Spring of 2012. However, as the trend has been for me the past few years, there is nothing "New" sounding or "Modern" as they say.

Smack dab in the middle of a time in music that spans the trendy copycat commercialism of "EDM" v. Disco Dubs, Edits and Reworks comes a very simple, perhaps "unfashionable" groove. There is no DubStep, no Bells & Whistles, not even a lick of new technology appears to be used to make any of these tracks. Almost every single one of these "brand new releases" are undeniably carbon copies of old school that never were, particularly in the deep dark Chicago styles of 1986-87. Those who require a driving beat may at first feel left out, turned away - but alas the energy is very much there - but requiring a trained or veteran ear, or at least an open mind to feel it.

I've been referring to this as "End of The World" because it has this haunting combination of post apocalyptic loneliness, infinite freedom and space, sadness and yet hope for a new beginning... not to mention the timing (2012)

This set is 100% ME - REAL UNDERGROUND MUSIC - REAL SOUL - that doesn't try to be popular or cater to trends, but is thoughtful, sometimes challenging. If you are charmed enough to try it, you WILL SURRENDER as the sound envelopes you and calls to you even after the music stops...

I fucking LOVE LOVE LOVE this mix - in all of its humbleness - and I have not been able to stop listening to it since its inception. Listen to it once. If you don't get it, listen again. Listen a third time. It's imperative to your own well being that you get in!

Inspired by "Tracy Goes to New York", Kristan Goes to Atlanta is comprised of records accumulated over the summer of 2010 from a cardboard box marked “FREE” out in front of  "Something Absurd" Record Shop in Portland, Maine. Dozens of passed up white labels, test pressings, and used vinyl that were chosen either by instinct, previous knowledge or were already owned by me, were brought home and reviewed. The tracks that bombed were completely outnumbered by a multitude of excellent condition classics that would replace older copies, and even more tracks I had never previously owned but had always wanted. Having already intended to dedicate a CD to Kristan F, (who would be leaving Maine and returning to Atlanta in August) relevant tracks were selected for both aesthetic and lyrics, and the result was an eclectic FOUR CD SET of mostly Vintage House from 1987 to 1997.

Disc 1 of 4 is an upbeat energetic set featuring late 80's/early 90's House & 80's Garage/Italo/High Energy classics.

Kristan Goes to Atlanta - 2 (Continuous - Shortened for SoundCloud)

Novelty, (Side A: Conservation of & Side B: Ingression of) was originally recorded on cassette in 1998, and features a few New Releases from that time (mostly House with Techno Elements) mixed with comparable tracks released ten or more years prior. The "Theory of Novelty" refers to points in Time/Space Relativity, or the interconnectedness where different paths in time "reconnect" in a different space, thereby giving new definition to matter through perspective or "imagination". What was once "The Past" now becomes relevant to "The Future", perhaps in a backwards or reverse fashion. Conservation of Novelty is where imagination perceives something "new"; while Ingression of Novelty is where everything is "returning" toward a coalescence simply by continuing to move forward. Novelty the cassette demonstrates how this same philosophy applies in Music, especially of course in Underground Music.
