My legendary renegade set from Shambhala 2022 is OUT NOW! 🌲💚 This is the first mix I’ve put out in OVER 3 YEARS! Read the full story below! 🇨🇦✨

At first I was pretty bummed that I didn’t get booked for Shambhala last year. I had played every year since 2016, and it had become the centre of my universe. But I decided I was not going to let it get me down. Just because I didn’t get booked, why should I miss out on experiencing my favourite festival in the world? I decided I was going to the festival regardless, and I was going to have the best time I possibly could. And I sure as hell did.

After sourcing a guest pass from Boogie T (thanks homie!) I set the wheels in motion. Somehow, somewhere, I was gonna play a set! I reached out on the Shambhala Farmily Facebook group for a renegade stage to play on and got inundated with requests, most of which sounded something like “come and play in our campsite, we have a party rocker and a DJ controller”! Not quite what I was looking for. Finally, literally as I was arriving at the festival, I was contacted by a lovely lady named Amber who said she could host me at “Camp Shinder”. I had lucked out. These guys had a PK rig, lights, and a pair of CDJ3000s… Not bad for a campsite! Word got around and I ended up playing to literally hundreds of people that night - before the music had even officially started! My Shambhala was off to a good start...

My weekend just got crazier from here on... I joined Def3 on stage at The Amp the next day to perform our track “Sink Or Swim” (coming soon) as we crowd surfed in a dinghy. I joined Dirt Monkey on stage at The Village. I played another impromptu set on the Fractal Beach stage (big ups Wes Please for sorting that out). I joined The Sponges on stage at the Fractal Forest and played guitar on "Jerry Brain”, my favourite track of theirs. And I topped it all off by spending Sunday night with Boogie T who brought me on stage at The Pagoda as he played our collab “Swamp Ting"… Epic times!

It was an absolutely magical weekend. I can honestly say that it was my favourite Shambhala ever. And I wasn’t even booked to play! So, THANK YOU to everyone that made my weekend so special and made me feel so welcome despite not being on the line up. There’s a reason we call Shambhala home...

So my NYE didn’t go exactly according to plan… We ran a night at the Trinity Centre in Bristol called “The Fresh Prince of New Year” and I put together a special 90s set which I produced a bunch of new music for, but sadly I never got to play it! My laptop overheated at the gig I played in Exeter earlier in the night (30 seconds before the countdown too!) so when I got back to Bristol I had to wing my set on a friends laptop using an old backup… Anyway, I pulled it all off in the end but unfortunately no one ever got to hear my special set - UNTIL NOW! So here it is, the set that never happened... Enjoy! :)
