Safely back in the studio we’ve been trying alternatives to throwing actual hands in the air. We’ve tried ants, pants and washing machines, but after getting stung, arrested and breaking very many bones we’d recommend just sticking with your hands and damn the consequences.

Does your life need more cowbell and funky bass?  

Over the past decade there has been a strong connection between Washington DC and British Columbia, Canada. Both places have produced and nurtured some incredibly talented funkateers, many of whom have remixed Fort Knox Five over the years. It has been a dream of ours to collaborate with these artists on original tracks, pushing forward the future sound of funk to start a new era that we have dubbed "DC to BC." This release is the first of these collaborations, and the end result is nothing short of a boogie monster!  

Jinglin’ Janglin’ was written with the funk and glitch hop maestro K+lab, a New Zealander who now calls Vancouver, BC home. His funky keys, electro-basses and catchy clavinets ooze all over this track. With the addition of Rob Myers' Chic-inspired guitars and a super-stabby horn line, this track positively bounces along – a perfect hybrid of the K+Lab and FK5 styles! On top of all that, the tune features vocals from Hip-Hop royalty: Baby Bam of the Jungle Brothers, who has worked alongside De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest going back to the 1980s. His vocals bubble all over the track, telling you to just "funk wit it" and jinglin and janglin the vibes straight to your feet! This tune is a modern funk-meets-glitch hop banger that has been torching dance floors and festivals all summer.  

We are super stoked to launch the DC to BC series with this wicked Captain K+lab collaboration. Already proven to do heavy duty on the dance floor, this release includes an instrumental mix for the DJs. Keep the funk janglin’ with this booty-shaker and stay tuned for the next installment of the DC to BC collabs.

DJ Limes Hailing from Portugal now currently based in Macau Helder De Lima aka DJ LIMES Started spinning records way back in 1999 with just the basics cheap belt drive Decks ,Mixer , amp , speakers & Headphones a very old school set up he recalls mixing all styles of music genres from house, minimal, tech house, electro swing and progressive trance. breakbeat, techno, rave and hardcore. After practicing for some time he became very technical, with flawless mixing, using now 3 "decks" most of the times to craft his mixes and mixtapes.

Still, Just more of a hobby that career interest he started playing more and more come weekends at house parties, beach parties local bars, Clubs, and festivals, gaining more experience and confidence to work a crowd


With traveling in his blood he set off to London where he managed to get more gigs at club nights bars and warehouse parties. With the constant will to travel took DJ Limes all around the world past 10 years playing in each country, he landed at including Brazil, Spain, Australia & Now currently now China.

Production wise he took on a diploma whilst staying in Byron Bay Australia for Audio production. " My productions is quite eclectic, doing mainly house, with a minimal tetchy touch with nice sweepy crazy synths that are usually found in psytrance or dubstep. Also done a few bootlegs and usually use them to give more character to my sets." Says DJ Limes 

Whilst continually keeping his finger on the button updating his DJ sets also adding more spark to his sets by using loops, effects, sounds using the remix decks in Traktor and synchronizing Ableton in my sets.

Currently, DJ Limes is based in Macau China where  he  spins regularly with Sideshow KUTS past 2 years and events all around the City including Kam Pek Bar, Heart Bar & Pacha Macau Urban Paradise with his unique DJ sets Funky Breaks Hip-Hop Latin Electro & Ragga.
