"I sought to commission key artwork from Oscar-nominated and New York Times best-selling artist, Tomer Hanuka. Because he is one of the best artists alive. The brief came with an objective to capture the lysergic and lethal language from FATHER's original "You're Not Boring Anymore" manscript. A presence of a character that is de-real. A vision of a brain rending, hallucinogenic fear resting beneath a halcyonic membrane of absurd, unearned tranquillity and calm. So quiet, in fact, that everything quakes. I’m going to phone a research institute or a fucking aeronautical laboratory and mash dial tones at anyone receiving me, it’s me, I’m here, telephone tones, beep boop MTV, Steven fucking Aoki, the guitarist from 7•11 and hjnnjhh 3️⃣3️⃣🔟🔟🔢🔟⏏️⏺

"In PROSODY I - IV you can actually hear a man breaking and the pleasure I derive from this is due to that man being me. loved every second of going mental on a synthesizer I had constructed during harder times. It gave me freedom.

The four tracks are four single take recordings. The musical content and sound is being created by my mind and played in simultaenous real-time, with no sequencer use at all. Aside from vocal content, I developed nothing or wrote anything down.

Then I released it.

Why? It was fun. Being ready to revel in the thrill of not knowing. To revel in the possibilities of each future moment.

To commit my flaws to permanence. Perfectionism is silence and self-ruin and nothing else. It is not sexy, nor is it evidence of creative brilliance. It is evidence of a person succumbing to serious mental illness. Like I had when clinical depression took the joy out of my life and spent months working on the same tiny little piece over and over

So I start letting PROSODY begin with tribal, inner turmoil. Then sound begins wrapping itself, coiling itself around the cold vocals and I start squeezing, start crushing its stupid computer mind to death, like some kind of pretentious metaphor snake made out of... sound. Yeah.

The burning question in life don't matter. The only thing that matters is how you navigate the flames.

We are not the words we write, or the music we create. That type of thinking is so fucking stupid. We are not the themes, world or characters that we explore. They are pieces to help in solving something much, much bigger.
