Fathom live at Centered Experience 2024

Born in Honolulu and raised in two states that seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum (Arizona and Hawaii), Adam Kanekoa has been an integral part of the electronic music scene since the 90’s. After immersing himself in the underground rave scene of Arizona and realizing his true connection with electronic music, he began his DJ career. 

A prolific DJ in every way, shape and form. Fathom has explored various styles and genres, incorporating Turntablism and proving himself to be an extremely versatile DJ. Playing parties and raves across the Arizona desert and constantly improving his craft, he quickly gained notoriety in the underground circuit and began making a name for himself.

In 2005, this native Hawaiian decided to move back to Hawaii and reunite with his brother, Ernie Kanekoa AKA Moniker. The Kanekoa brothers quickly became a mainstay in the Honolulu nightlife scene and worked as DJ’s and promoters at clubs like Next Door and Lotus Soundbar. Together, they created a production company called RareForm Entertainment and in 2007 they started an after hours club called Epix. This was the first true electronic music after-hours club in Honolulu. Its popularity quickly blew up, as it created a safe haven and retreat for like minded individuals after all of the other clubs would close.

Eventually, Epix got shut down, but new things were on the horizon. The Kanekoa brothers joined forces with some of the most talented DJ’s and producers on the island and formed Asylum After-hours. A venue which went on to set a new standard for all other clubs in the pacific, and become legendary in the electronic music scene. Not only was Asylum known for having the best parties, the club also introduced Hawaii to some of the best DJ’s & producers from around the globe. As an after hours freak of nature, not only had Asylum become a household name, it also managed to grab the attention of fans from all over the world. Voted #50 on the world’s top 100 clubs list by DJMAG (three years in a row), and listed as one of the top five most intimate clubs in the world, Asylum succeeded in connecting Hawaii’s electronic music scene to the rest of the globe.  

Fathom (Adam Kanekoa) has played along side some of the biggest names in the industry, including Rodriguez Jr, Tim Green, DJ T, Tanner Ross, Soul Clap, Lee Burridge, Claude Vonstroke, Sian, and Maxxi Soundsystem (just to name a few). The list goes on and on. Not to mention tag teaming a set with none other than the legend Justin Martin himself. He has destroyed dance floors at numerous clubs and festivals including The End Up, Love Fest, Global Dance, E Komi Mai Festival, Burning Man, BPM Festival, etc. Fathom has been featured in DJ Mag twice and his Podcast was listed on the Top 5 Tech House mixes on Techno Live Sets. He has original productions on multiple different labels, including a remix from DirtyBird’s own Ardalan. 

Adam is currently a resident DJ with Centered and Anura.
