Metallica- Fuel (Drumtrack)

This is a jazzy version of a traditional Turkish lament. The original features some kind of "heavy" words depicting the story of young people going to war during the early 20th century while the music has a kind of playfulness to it. Therefore, the song created a divergence among the Turkish population: Some insisted that the song should not be played as like a happy tune.
The song's harmonic progression is quite fit for a jazzy sound in my opinion. Therefore, I programmed a simple, lazy drum track on Logic and let my guitar flow on top of the beat. I recorded a channel where I laid down the chords. The other channel is used for recording the improvised solos. For both channels, I used my old, 1964 Guild Starfire. This is the only track that I used this guitar on because it's quite difficult to get a nice tone from!
