Jenny Goes Dirty_Amoureux Solitaires (Original Mix)

40 Records is the new label from London based DJ and wild card producer KDA. The idea of this family collective plans to bring together an unbelievable cast of fresh talent, at the same time serving as a platform for KDA’s own releases. Stepping up to the plate is the label head himself with ‘KNKY NMBRS 001’.

 

For those who don’t know KDA, he was a shy South London kid who found his identity amid the debauchery of the city’s underground gay clubs, and over the years earned his place in the spotlight while staying true to the passions and beliefs that first fired his clubbing imagination. Real name Kris di Angelis, has a deep and credible history Djing on the London circuit at iconic LGBTQ+ nightspots and parties such as Too 2 Much and Circus. Kris was playing in Soho’s wildest clubs alongside the likes of the iconic Jodie Harsh, in an era where he lived, worked, and played in a few cramped streets of Soho where life went on 24/7. Whether it’s as the official DJ for London Fashion Week several years running, being one of Pete Tong’s most rated artists, or scoring an actual number one single in 2015 , KDA’s daring and lawless approach to music brings wildly different elements into the same space, purely to see what happens.

 

This Ep is made up of five ridiculously good edits kicking off with Roisin Murphy’s 2012 ‘Simulation’, where KDA amps up the slo-mo chug original and flips it into a powerful  peak time weapon.  Cardi B and Kehlani’s 2018 ‘Ring’ gets the KDA treatment, where Kris takes the beat and the genius lyrics “you don’t hit my number no more”, to a whole new audience with his killer ‘Vogue’ rework.  Post dub step figure James Blake’s ‘Do You Ever’ was a throwback to his London clubbing days. KDA turbo transports the pop come dub step original into a after hours juggernaut with its rolling, crunching beats, and relentless groove, while Wretch32’s ‘Traktor’ gets a dark and bass heavy grime fix. KDA flexes his studio muscle on the closing cut, showcasing the innovator that he is turning Mariah Carey’s ‘GTFO’ into a super-lux garage house monster.

The room was hot and balmy making it impossible to sleep through the entire night, instead she writhed around in a semi-sleepless state. There was something on her mind, it didn't just plague her waking hours, it infiltrated her dreams too. Shaking the anxiety and moving forward was proving difficult, it didn't matter how hard she tried to block it out and bury it way back in her subconscious. Sooner or later somebody would find out the truth - her karma was definitely in the post. 

Manuel Darquart have made a name for themselves with their laidback take on Balearic, house and boogie. EPs for the likes of Wolf Music, Semi Delicious and Childsplay have been the vessels for their creations over the last five years, and now, in what we'd say is something of a match made in heaven, they make their debut on Mike Who's Planet Trip. In The Post is the London-based duo doing what they do best: a hunk of smooth boogie, hot house jams and dreamy Balearic bliss.

Another EP with essential originator Neo Disco tunes!
LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Munk, Peter Herbert and a balearic jam by two obscure German Disco lovers called: The GB’s.
It’s 2017 and suddently Disco vibes are everywhere again: From festivals like Dekmantel to the funky DJ style of opinion-leading DJ’s like Black Madonna or Mall Grab. From the never ending DJ Harvey hype to the massively increased disco edits vinyl market. Former techno DJ’s like Pachanga Boys, Dixon or DJ Koze suddenly release discoish mixtapes or funky remixes. If you went to a club in Berlin this summer the chance was big that instead of dancing to melancholic Deep House  you were stepping your feets to Disco Edits. The Disco vibe seems to take over House and Techno. 
And as Munk and the German Gomma label were among the first ones to release new styles of electronic disco a few years ago - it makes sense to  release some  essential stuff that started the wave.

LCD Soundsystem’s female voice Nancy Whang did a big disco tribute EP on Gomma 2013. New versions of classic tracks from the Casablanca records catalogue.( The classic disco label from the 1970ies). One of the 5 new interpretations was a french version of Steve Miller’s Like an eagle. This one is mad.

Belgique Disco innovators THE GLIMMERS remixed by Pete Herbert & Tristan de Cunha. A salsa piano disco house tune that will work heavy on baleric dance floors as well as on the harder clubs - when the nasty moment come in.

Munk - Down in LA - Shazam Remix
That Disco remix that was German Disco innovator Munk’s second big mover (after his collabo with James Murphy). 
The bassline! The piano solo! That voice!


The GB’s_ Lucky in Vichy. A 10 minutes balearic disco extravaganza. Smooth like a cocktail on an Ibiza beach. This one has never really been picked up in a bigger way, but probably that was good. No hype around that beautiful track.

Fatima Yamaha’s now classic single ‘What’s A Girl To Do’ taken from the EP ‘A Girl Between Two Worlds’ saw the light of day in 2004, but it wasn’t until 10 years later that a re-release made the song truly explode. 
For many years, Fatima Yamaha was shrouded in mystery, known only to be a project led by “a young lady born to a Japanese father and a Turkish mother”. By now we all know Bas Bron is Fatima Yamaha. The Dutch producer has many guises, but Fatima Yamaha is his most enigmatic.
The album ‘Imaginary Lines’ was released in 2015 and followed the success of ‘What’s A Girl To Do’ with the fabulous single ‘Love Invaders’. Later followed by another banging club anthem ‘Araya’.
His live shows unfailingly live up to the highest expectations, offering refined house and techno complimented by virtuoso synths. But after years of selling out tours and headlining the most prestigious festivals all over the world, Bas took a year off touring to focus on new material and other ventures.
He directed, produced and made the soundtrack of the short film ‘Heian’ and recorded lots of other tracks, for many different projects. But this autumn there will finally be a new Fatima Yamaha album; ‘Spontaneous Order’. Bas shows his versatility on the album, effortlessly moving form harsh dancefloor tracks to spacious ambient drones and funky electronic pop tracks.
