"Rosin the Bow" is an earlier rendition of the well-known traditional folk song "Old Rosin the Beau." It predates the more popular version, which was published in Philadelphia in 1838. "Old Rosin the Beau" has a dark comedic theme and is traditionally sung as a drinking song. This version of the song focuses on "Rosin the Bows" cheerful and easygoing nature, reflecting on his life experiences as a fiddler. The lyrics convey a sense of nostalgia and contentment, highlighting "Rosin the Bows" joy in playing his violin and spreading cheer wherever he goes.

The melody commonly referred to in the United States as "Old Rosin the Beau" was originally written under the title of "Eoghan Coir" by Irish poet and songwriter Riocard Bairéad sometime in the late 18th Century.
