Utilizing her distinctly brooding sound as an unwavering foundation, Los Angeles-based @woventhorns offers her deeply personal interpretation of the dubstep genre. @woventhorns’ ‘Devour’ EP marks the second release from @ruins_corp, the bass music imprint she co-founded with @mesck to channel their boundary-pushing visions of dubstep, drum & bass, and beyond.

Equal parts nostalgia and low-end dread, ‘Devour’ proves that electronic music can carry deep emotional weight without sacrificing impact. Rooted in the dubstep underground, this four-track EP is an intimate body of work that captures the latest evolution of @woventhorns’ sound - fusing the grit and atmospheres of noise, drone, industrial, and experimental influences with her emerging singer-songwriter sensibilities.

A lot of the time when im writing tracks i make a couple different versions & vibes to begin with, i very rarely finish them both however. I think with these i loved the vocal sample so much i had to do it.

V1 is definitely my pick of the two, stripped back and minimal roller.

V2 has a more high energy headbanger raggo vibe.
