We are very pleased to announce the fourth Optimo Disco Plate. What was only really ever meant to be an imprint for a one-off release appears to have developed into a fully fledged label in its own right. Sex Judas delivers the latest Disco Plate and while i attempt to work out how to pronounce the title of the A1 track on this EP, I'll let him tell you a little about himself and this release which comes complete with an outrageous 12" x 12" insert - 

Sex Judas feat. Ricky started up a few years ago to channel an anonymous Norwegian producer’s love for comics, political satire, music history, eroticism and above all electronic music. Imagine Damon Albarn’s “Goriliaz” project on acid or the musical versions of The Fabulous Furry Freakbrothers on, well whatever they are on. Portrayed as a classic twosome, infant terrible Sex Judas and his trusted sidekick Ricky come across as some kind of musical nomads with a hippy take on life.
 
Musically it’s all over the place, but the essence of jamming and the love for African American music shines thru. Inspiration is taken from German psychedelic rock, deep southern disco, rhythm and blues, classic house and techno, also taking a key from the avant-garde.

12" comes with a special 12" x 12" printed insert and will be released on Optimo Music as a three track 12 on June 1st 2015. Distribution by Kompakt.

Ghost in the Lead is a modular instrumental built around a walking synth bassline, a looping melodic lead, and a driving electronic drum beat. The rhythm section features a strong kick and snare with crisp hi-hats, while the bassline anchors both harmony and groove. The lead synth delivers a repetitive motif in minor key, evoking melancholic energy and emotional clarity.

The remix arc intensifies the structure with a relentless 130 BPM pulse, syncopated percussion, and modular synth tension. Atmospheric pads and arpeggiated motifs are filtered through sweeping low-pass automation, creating cinematic build-ups and stark breakdowns. Vocal samples are layered in two forms: original rhythmic male phrases looped as percussive texture, and new topline fragments delivered with spatial FX and modular phrasing. These overlays echo themes of memory, signal decay, and pattern disruption.

The structure is engineered for remix reinterpretation, cinematic sync, and headphone immersion. Subtractive drops, additive risers, and tension-release cycles drive the momentum. Designed for warehouse acoustics and ambient builds, Ghost in the Lead is a spectral anthem for looped emotion and modular clarity.

After rocking our socks off with the excellent Karma, Sao Paulo’s Fatnotronic return to Deewee with a brand new double header of deep dancing music. Phillipi and Rodrigo offer their take on new beat, marrying the propulsive bass and tough drum machines of the Belgian genre with sparkling arps and space age synth melodies. We’re hopping on the laser grid and heading to Santa Cruz courtesy of Norway’s very own Karl Fraunhofer for the 12th Sprechen release!

The title track is the thing of a synth lovers wet dream…arps, classic drum machines, soaring pads and some killer lead lines are all here on this neon painted soundscape that sounds like the pairing of a lost Canon Video release and a level from Outrun!

Tone keeps the synth spirit going with a slightly slowed down affair that still throbs like an Italian studio in the mid 80’s. Jazz sounding melody stabs with some gritty chord work make this one perfect for driving your white lamborghini down to the shops to buy another pair of espidrilles.

Remix action is from an absolute legend of the true Ibizan party scene by way of Leo Mas who gets the house vibes painted all over Santa Cruz whilst still retaining an air of balearic-ness. Manchester’s very own Neil Diablo gets to work on Tone and gives it his trademark balearic disco makeover with dashing if Italo influence that is certain to do some damage over the Summer festival dance floors!

2. Karl Fraunhofer - Tone

There should be a new name for Norwegian balearica as they are hitting the sweet spot every time. This EP is no exception, with its retro analogue sounds touching on Ibiza, Italo, soundtrack and all the good stuff.

The Telemark Express is a collaboration between Norway's Kjetil Lagesen aka Kellini, an up and coming disco producer and familiar name on the Nordic scene, Jarle Bråthen. Periodically they both have 'writer's block' but when they hit the studio together, these obstacles fade away and the magic emerges.

Epic Proportions starts things off at a pace with its bubbling arpeggiator, congas and 4/4 beat that build, before the epic synths takes things to space disco heaven.

Inflatable Ego goes full balearic with its reggae lilt, stringless flanged bass and selection of analogue synths. Close your eyes and it could be 1986 in Amnesia as Alfredo drops that dubbed out Demis Roussos B-side everyone's been banging on about.

The title track goes deep with a nagging synth and swells that lay underneath Vangelis like synths as they pick out their melody.

Bright Future keeps the squelchy bass with uplifting chords to send the sun down in to the Med as you move on to your third Long Island Ice Tea.
